Its almost as if you'd pay extra not to have the bodykit and have the XT itself - ignoring the 6 speed auto in the BF of course.

You’ve hit the nail on the head, Dave. Ford have taken away the exclusivity of the XR6 and made it such a mainstream car, in its standard form it has become rather bland.

Before all the XR6 owners jump up on their hind legs and start whinging, I’d just like to make a few points here.

1. I don’t remember anyone saying that they didn’t like the BA XR6, they were just sick of seeing them. There is actually a difference.

2. Does being a Ford enthusiast mean that you have to like every model that Ford build?

3. Why would people be jealous of an XR6? Like many have pointed out, they have become quite mainstream.

4. I have to admit, I must be a Ford impostor. Oh lord, I have sinned, I’m not a true believer.

If I saw 700 GT-P’s a day, with 500 of them being driven by people who should be taken out and bashed, then put back in Camrys where they belong, I would sell mine today.

Cheers, Danny

Well said mate.

I could'nt care less what people think about my car. if they dont like it, thats their problem.

If I spent everyday worriying about what people thought of my car, I probably would'nt be driving, also thats one of the reason why I post it up on non-Commodore forums, because I just dont care what people think.

busses.... only because they really dont care where anyone is positioned on the road, when they feel its time to pull out of a bus stop, thats plenty enough reason...

ive been cut off by a bus going across 3 lanes from a bus stop! but what choice does a light vehicle driver have, but to slam on their brakes and close their eyes...

Around my area GT's and GT-P's are pretty common place to. In our undercover car park at our unit there are 4 (and only 2 XR's - mine and an XR8). They're no where near as exclusive as the T-series was. And if you think that's for any other reason other than the same as the XR's (the BA being very popular and people jumping on board) then you're kidding yourself. They are a much more mainstream vehicle than the Tickford T-series was, so I guess you could use your XR argument on FPV vehicles as well.

Then again, I don't buy or sell my car based on what everyone else is doing... That's just a bit weird.

That's right. I quite like the BA/BF XR6 nice car to drive.

It's familiarity that breeds contempt. I remember being very impressed with the new Commodore shape when the VT's arrived.

These days I could care less. It's seeing them all day every day that changes the perception. They have become ordinary (to me).

The BA/BF XR's are rapidly heading in that direction (as far as I'm concerned).

Nice car, just getting very ordinary looking.

1)Maroon VN Commodores with faded paint, exhaust, and big tacho. Driver with baseball cap. The commy V6 with zorst does NOT sound good, get a V8.
2)Bodykit/Rims on 1.6L Lancers.....its a 1.6L!
3)Bodykit/Rims on 1.6L Honda Civics....its not a Lancer!!
4)The Toyota Prius, an Echo is more economical. Dont believe the bs.
5)The N/A Silvia. Its not fast, full stop.
6)The Riced Hyundai excel.
7)The Riced Kia Rio, its the new excel!
8)The WRX Kia Rio

Subaru spokesman David Rowley says: "We are confident that people will be able to distinguish between this car and the WRX. For a start, there is a slight difference in the acceleration figures: Rio goes for Rex

9)Sadly i do agree with the N/A BA XR6 thing, way too many around.

I agree so much. They are everywhere around Melbourne. They sound absolutely shocking. My EA with stock exhaust puts out a far nicer exhaust note than those droning 4 cylinders. That drone sounds like a strangled fart.

vr/vs, clear tailights and/or mags and/or exhaust, and what seems to be the compulsory driving position for drivers of these cars, the laid back, low seating, barely see over the wheel, with the right fist firmly clenched and the elbow angled up WTF???

yeah the sportivo could be considered a performance car but its not a 4 door family sedan and as for the ralliart magna i believe the improvement was in the 4wd drive train and a bodykit so theres not a whole lot of increase in power if any and still not considered a performance car. And yes i agree there are alot of riced up holdens getting around which i do mention as for riced fords i see the occasional telstar/laser and maybe on a rare occasion a falcon with crystal tail lights which isnt really rice imo and after all its the cars you are sick of seeing and these are the cars i am sick of seeing.
