What about the performance build section Russ? Mine are all still viewable at the moment, probably just haven't reached me with the shotgun and blanket yet.

I cant thank "swanny" enough for fixing the links to my photos after photobucket decided to charge for sharing my photos.

I thought 7 years of photos was lost. Thanks to AFF admin and members for providing the information to save my thread. Below is what i did.

I download each photo, individually from my Photobucket account.
I tried to download the album but it wouldn't work.
I downloaded 600 photos individually to a folder on my computer.
It took me about 30 minutes.
I then created an account with "imgur" (basically another version of photobucket)
Uploaded my entire folder to imgur in 1 go.
It took a while to upload but i just let my computer do its thing.
When all the photos were uploaded i sent PM to "Russell".
He put me onto "swanny" who over 1 week fixed all the links to my photos and saved my thread.

Thanks again guys, much appreciated

p.s just need to work out how to upload photo to "imgur" using my phone

it appears that PB have removed the option to download an entire album at once, unless there's a hidden setting somewhere I don't have checked.

Does anybody know? I really can't be bothered downloading individually the 1000's of gifs I have on there PLUS all the photos

Halp, I really don't wanna have to do it one by one. I may legit cry and require large sums of chocolate to cope.

Edit to test flickr vs imgur, flickr it is

Yes I've just set up an IMGur account because Photobucket was giving me too much grief. As I've backed up all my photos to a HDD I've started deleting my albums on photobucket, I deleted all new albums but it won't let me delete the older albums I have on site. With a little effort I've pretty well worked out how the system on IMGur works and should be okay now.

All I have been able to find out is I am supposed to "update codes embedded in your websites". How do I do this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're right, all my linked PostImage.org photos have disappeared from my project thread :( :( :(
And I've only just got over the photobucket BS from earlier.

Just to make you aware, around mid day yesterday all postimage links in AFF were updated to the new postimage address by wonders of computer and AFF chairman russellw..

Therefore all photos in AFF linked to postimage should now be working.

Thank you for fixing my build thread PG2

I paid up to PB last year so that I could transfer most of my pics to AFF and give me time to find an alternative to them that wasn't charging like a wounded bull, i've been using Postimage since, its free and despite this little glitch it has been meeting my needs.

I had thought that PB might have come up with a cheaper alternative, but they haven't, so have told them I will not be renewing my overpriced subscription, the renewal is automatic and you need to advise by email that you are cancelling your subscription, i am now in the process of deleting all my pics (I have copies) lodged with them.

My AFF gallery is full to capacity and I am now using Postimage to post my pics, wouldn't it be nice if AFF could give us pic fans more space in our gallery, I for one would be happy to pay for it and it would be a boost to the AFF coffers

Take the opportunity to replace the PB pics in your threads by using AFF gallery, Postimage or other free 3rd party hosting providers whilst you can see the PB pics, it took me quite some time to do but I managed to get most of my threads fixed, the PB free period won't last if you don't pay up

I had a $500 commerce account of 2000 pics with PB but they have made me no special offers nor done me any favours, so I have deleted all my pics and closed my account with them, am now using AFF gallery and Postimage, I will be donating the money I save to AFF to upgrade my membership from Gold to Platinum when the time comes.
