Hi Lisa,

The Landau looks great. Will you be putting the vinyl roof back on? I think the White roof against the Tropic Gold looks really good.

Cheers.

Thanks! Yeah we will be putting the white vinyl roof back on (although hubby was eyeing it without but as this is my baby its my choice though! ).

It will still be gold but hoping to have a bit of a lift to the tropic gold - maybe more metallic that sort of thing? Hubby was tossing around the idea of putting a pearl in it but not sure on colour... all depends on the $$$

I cant wait to get it back on the road... :

cheers Lisa

Good to see your Landau posted up

Craig there is a thread on Lisa's Landau in the project section...You will love where the Landau lives

You going to go with the brown carpet Lisa? That looked so good on the image that Chopped did. Will look great with the light interior too.

Cheers

Yeah, the brown carpet has the nod - although it will be darker than what chopped used - pretty much the same as the original brown it came out with.
Will update the project thread soon as I hope to send the car to the panel shop this week...the last few weeks have dragged a bit! Have to entertain myself with interior stuff lol Have started picking out whats to go for chroming now...getting desperate arent I! :togo:

Do Landau's have the fuel filler on the right as well as the left, or is this a custom mod?

A bit more than a cut and polish do you think? All the lights, lens, exterior trim and bumpers came with it. I've manged to get good second hand guards and bonnet, and correct headlight assembly. Would like to keep it close to original with a few modifications.

Are the body numbers for the Landau stamped into the LH front tower, similar to the XC? I'm having trouble finding mine.

Yes they are stamped on the shock tower same spot as XC. Have a scratch if the paint is a bit thick and see its there.

Well you do seem to have everything so should be now worries getting it back together.

Thanks for your encouragement, I think I need it. I'II start a new thread when the rebuild gets underway.

AusLandau, I have checked your list of specifications for the Landau, and mine seems to have an odd paint code of "E". Any ideas on this?

Not really ...... E is an odd one! Have you checked under the scuff plates to see the original colour? The only E around that era was Sandstone Beige which was not available for Landau's. SO if it is that would be very rare but check under the scuff plates for original paint, behind front guards or in parts around the engine bay???

Is the green on the side just a bit of growth because the only other E was Frosted Pine BUT it was only available from 1977 ......?

Might have to start wearing slippers and smoke a pipe as well.

Does this mean you can officially add beige to the colour range?

I might have some information that might clear up the Beige colour.
I have an original 1973 LTD and Landau parts catalogue. In the paint section, it lists two sets of dates in 1973 for paint.
They go like this.

Paint Section (To 11/73)
Yellow Glow EH
Wild Violet EH
Stratosphere Grey XA
Calypso Green XA
Port Wine XA
Copper Bronze XA
Grecian Gold XA
Night Mist Blue XA
Deep Ivy XA
Walnut Glow XA
Cosmic Blue XA
Onyx Black XR
Polar White XW

Paint Section (From 11/73)
Yellow Blaze XB
Stratosphere Grey XA
Frosted Lime XB
Port Wine XA
Copper Bronze XA
Tropic Gold XB
Apollo Blue XB
Deep Ivy XA
Walnut Glow XA
Cosmic Blue XA
Onyx Black XR
Polar White XW
Sandstone Beige XB

Both body types are listed next to each paint colour, 54J - LTD & 65J - Landau.
So it would be fair to say that all these colours were available.
Hope this helps.

Mine is from the LTD/Landau workshop manual, the colours as stated would have been what was available from 73. Pauls list would have been the complete list after production so that expands things considerably ....... landau37's Landau is Z848 so they will keep popping up in all sorts!

SORRY ..... Off topic a bit as this is show us your coupe bits. Should open another thread to continue discusion!!!

Okay then, just to stay with the thread _2: here is my coupe

And colour code Z848 = EZ848 XXXXX EMERALD FIRE

I have now listed all EZ Fleet codees as well. Therefore, no more mysteries as such;
