They've done similar blitzes of mobile phone use in the past, and caught many thousands of drivers, yet phone use remain a tiny fraction of total serious crashes. Not saying we shouldnt discourage their use, but surely penalties or resourcing to dish out those penalties should be proportionate to the problem they cause? |

People dont care even when you explain the legalities as Ive mentioned before.
We had many examples of people coming into the van sales yard and buying vans unsuitable for their tow rig but you cant tell them if they've got tbeir heart set on a particular combination. Its even worse right now because vans are getting bigger and heavier and tow rigs are so expensive they buy the van and hope the existing rig will suffice. |

Paul Maric has posted a few pics of his on instagram.
He’s got 16.8L of fun/100kms showing on the dash. Hopefully he will post a YouTube video on it soon.

Don’t think there was any relationship there. Paul put it on social media that he was interested and asked for dealers to reach out. It came from a dealer in Port Macquarie and Paul lives in Melbourne

I'm not really sure why Ford or a Ford dealership thinks getting one of these into this person's hands so quickly is a good move. The guy is a twat, a sensationalist mouthpiece that thinks he is more important than actually is. Frankly, when he published the story below, and then reneged a short period later, his credibility went straight in the dust bin. https://www.drive.com.au/caradvice/i...mustang-again/ https://www.carexpert.com.au/car-rev...-r-spec-review There are more trust worthy reviews and opinions out there on the Raptor.

Having met the guy and spent a day with him, I do not agree at all. I did however never agree with his mustang pieces

Thanks for explaining it mate. I realise I am no journo and they may want to prioritise the media comments from them. Unlike some, I will be using it for proper 4wding. taking to cape york, sand , mud , rocks etc. and no doubt some scratches. If it has good features , I will say so , if it has bad features , I will say so. ( I already don't like that the lockers are touch screen controlled only. The number of times I have had to quickly flick on the lockers in my current 4wd in some tricky 4wd via easy accessible rocker switches which take a second is so useful. A couple of diff lock buttons, out of the way near the shifter or drive controller would have been great . Just my preference.
But I would like more visibility into my order from Ford. Should the dealer do better- yes of course. They rush to get deposit and signatures then go quiet for 6 months. then any issue , they just say hey it fords fault A monthly update from ford isn't much to ask, it easy to even semi automate this via technology out of the CRM and inventory management system. Would force the dealer to be a bit more transparent as well... Last edited by Gumboot; 20-09-2022 at 10:53 AM. |

Saw one in real life at a Ford dealership today.
Had a sit in it & a play with the buttons. Having second thoughts on getting one of these now. For all the raves about the quality of the interior, I was not impressed at all. I'll wait for a test drive before I make a decision...................... |

Then I think of what other 4x4 could I buy and there's a compromise on every single one. I think I could live with the cheap look interior on a Ranger or Everest when it ticks pretty much every other box |

Why is the Raptor putting out such low figures compared to at the flywheel compared to the two diesel variations tested? |

I suspect it detunes in rwd mode so too many people don't end up in the scrub

Dyno figure seems fine to me for something running 33s, it performs well on the road though so wouldn't worry about the dyno.
