Should be nice and easy to work on too given its half the engine it used to have, I reckon this is gonna be the new mining favorite for fleets.

Less fuel, better power and torque, easier (and cheaper) to maintain and auto so even the window lickers on the short bus can drive it.

They put a derated 2.8 into the Coaster bus (which tares at 3.7t and gvms at over 5t) so I dont think the engine in the LC will be all that bad.
The V8 70 series we have at work is 2.7t with just a bullbar and steel tray.

My concern is that engines and power trains in newer vehicles are really made down to prices
And now don’t last like previous generations.

Woe begets someone looking to keep something like a Ranger for more than 8 to 10 years if they get stuck with premature engine or transmission failure. Maybe that’s why so many late models end up in wreckers for parts, one good smash or failure and not worth repairing?

I was speaking to a Polestar dealer rep and he was mentioning that it will last longer than a internal combustion vehicle because it has less moving parts.
I said will it still be around in 35 years like my mother's 626 that is still regularly driven? He didn't answer

What an absolute joke, I reckon tuning companies over there are going to be very surprised when they remove the massive cork on the Euro Ranger Raptor.

Also has anyone reviewed the new Amarok Ecoboost yet or is everyone still reviewing the 3L V6 variant that the Ranger also offers?

Sounds like it might be already happening with court cases over the 2.5l in the Escape Hybrids having block breaches , then igniting the battery and burning to the ground.....not a good look

Sort of like I had an electrical fault when the Conrod knocked the distributor off

Can't complain about that, gets a positive review, is circa 1.5-2 seconds faster to 100 than the V6 diesel.

No, has nothing to do with the batteries, it’s actually to do with rods out the block engine failure causing a serious engine bay fire that quickly spreads. Hybrid and PHEV batteries are located under the U.S. front passenger seat.

The battery fire you’re thinking of is another separate issue, not necessarily on these models…

It’s currently a law suit brought by six owners….

With respect, you’re conflating two things - the under hood temperature is the issue with hybrids
Thermal runaway is a battery issue in BEVs with much bigger batteries.

The batteries in C2 hybrids are mounted under the front right seat.
