You guys bagging the thread are pathetic.
There has been a lot of good information on here about the new model and photos as well as invaluable posts from spyman. A thread doesn't die after one minute, get off your high horse and unsubscribe or don't post here if you only post dribble like that.

I think we all need to step back a bit, yes its exciting but time for a beer.
Ford are dragging their feet with the GTF, no way in hell we will hear anything about FH until they have atleast released proper details and images and their orders are locked in. The FH while not sporting a GT badge should be superior in many ways, so they wont shot themselves in the foot their. They are tracking for the worst release of an important model in recent history though, even if the end result means little moving forward.

Unless LED's and front parking sensors make it more superior I think you are going to be dissapointed.

This is the last Falcon to ever be released, it's a huge thread as a result and one that is almost impossible to stay 100% on specific topic due to sparking so many comparisons and references to models that lead up to it. Most of the thread is quite useful, insightful and somewhat nostalgic. I see no problem with it. And trust me, it's being monitored by everyone here.
If you don't want to be a part of it just unsubscribe. When pictures and specs are made official I'm sure another thread will be posted. Until then, pull back the agro and enjoy the last spy pic/discussion thread the Aussie Falcon will ever have. |

I hope spyman is okay?
For those who missed it here is an FH G6E by the looks of it. If you look at the far right bottom button you will see a parking sensor emblem. Also interesting to note that Ford does not use handbrakes on their TEST mules. No wonder they never seem to have any handbrake issues at testing time!! Workplace health and safety anyone?

WARNING: The new FH is not due for months and months and there is a hell of some time to kill in the meantime. I find the banter in this thread enjoyable, keeps the interest up (for most it seems) and rather than only allowing pics from Spyman (muchly appreciated) it is a great insight to what peoples expectation and thoughts are for the FH ....... sooooooo ....... if this offends some but still decide to venture in unsuspecting, you have been warned! There will be discussions occurring!

..just my two-bob's worth on the BA XT V8. I had one of the first - October 2002 in Narooma Blue, an absolutely superb vehicle; went like a scalded cat, returned I6 N/A economy, handling and suspension great, and stayed with VY/VZ SS's (less said the better :-). The only thing it could have had, to improve it, was an LSD. Have seen one with that option (Mercury silver, manual), mine was 4sp auto.
The VCT made/makes a big difference in DrJekkyl/Mr Hyde stakes, and burn rubber!!!! Having now owned all 3 versions of the 5.4 (XT 220, FG XR8 290and FG GT 315- OK, no 230, 260 or 302) it's fair to say they are an awesome motor, and a credit to Ford/FPV and all the guys and gals who worked on them. Like one of the magazines said at the time, "the 315 feels like an extra litre bigger than the 290". The 220 however, feels like DOUBLE the N/A I6..... (Have also had N/A I6 Futura BA, AUII I6 (non VCT) and EF I6, EB I6 and the original 3.9 non-multi I6 EA - all great aussie sixes! The 220 was something special, and agree it (and 230s) will become collectible - just get the LSD. p.s. mine had 16"s standard.

At the time I bought a BA XR8 I looked at getting a V8 XT, and by the time it was optioned up the price was very close to the XR8, so I didn't see the point. Obviously most buyers did the same thing.

Even the XR6s were over $40k, so way more than now, even. Hopefully the FH XR8 will be 'reasonably priced...

Guys I think a lot of you guys don't understand this gt-f is the still born child of ford pulling the pin early in regards to FPV before "FH" is launched. I have seen the now still born FH FPV car "GS" and hope one day into the future ford shows it some where. FPV is a non entity now and gt-f is the memory of it The new xr8 will be the same as the series 1 FG car but with supercharger and any FH will be special as it will be the least made falcon ever. With all the rumbles of late lets just hope it happens (FH) Spyman |

Are you sure the still born fh gs isn't in some way related to the gtf? Would make sense if the gtf had some fh features and could explain the lack of info.

The GTF will go down as king, but only because of its name, like most royality it will inherit its power. Unless its intercooled the FH XR8 like the current GS is just a tune away from the same result. Both will be great cars, but the XR8 will go down as he last V8 nd the last shape. Differents wants and priorities I guess.

What we thought was the last AUS V8 back in 82 was the XE ESP. Prior to that the last GT was the XB. No need to tell anyone the difference in values and desirability of the last V8 v last GT in that situation. In 5 years from now the FH XR8 will be a distant memory and this last GT will still be highly lusted and sought after. Ce la vie. |

Forgive my ignorance, what is a cow change?
I think the gtf might be more than a sticker/bumper pack. But that could just be my wishful thinking. I expect they will do something small mechanically so people can't just get the gtf tune.

I think that was the issue. You may recall Holden tried selling a cheaper V8 (the VY SV8) but everyone who wanted a proper V8 sedan just paid a few more thousand and bought the SS.

In that spyman pic that dash reposted, why would they bother covering the badge in the steering wheel?

And yet with the VE they changed the name of the sv8 to ss and the ss to ssv and the the sv8 (ss) started selling again.
