Talk about trying to get the most out of a tank of fuel GEEZ! I think the lowest mine has ever showed on DTE was 50 or so, although I have seen it at 80 with 3/4 of a tank left. :evil3:

Bah, I've driven over 5km's with DTE on 0. It doesn't go into negatives either.

Oh, and yes, I was shitting bricks.

I have heard it can start stalling, even when there is up to 20 on the clock. In saying that though I've had 3 in my mums forte and 14 in mine.

Not on mine, I run it right down to empty every time, so the tank doesnt get a chance to build up crap.

I justify it by saying less fuel means less wight means more kms per tank, but realy its pure stinngyness

Ive gone 5 kms with the DTE on zero too, and regularly take it down to 5 or less.

Only once has the car stalled from low fuel and it was so long ago I cant remember if it was while going uphill or downhill., I just remember it stalled and it was time to go to the servo.

I got mine down to the last 250 mL in the tank once. It's not something I'm proud of actually.

Bah, I've driven for 72kms with the DTE on 0. Guage was in the red but wasn't on empty so I never worried about it.

Damn! How is that even possible? You sure there isn't something wrong with your fuel gauge? :P

The guage is the accurate part, the DTE is only a calculation based on the guage sender resistance along with previous and current driving style/conditions. I only use my DTE as a rough comparative fuel consumption guide, not how far I will get to a tank, I don't trust it.
