SWERVE is a new movie in cinemas (limited release) which gets the ball rolling by blowing up a Saab convertible and sending a Ford Fairlane Ghia in to a spectacular barrel roll stunt crash! Man that car got some serious hang-time! I've got some amazing views from 6 different cameras (2 of which were strapped inside the car!)
See the trailer here: www.swervefeaturefilm.com I edited this film and my Dad wrote and directed it. It's got Jason Clarke (from Death Race! ahah, and Gatsby and a whole bunch of other American films), Emma Booth (Underbelly), David Lyons (E.R), Vince Colosimo and Travis McMahon. It's a wicked fun ride, a good solid thriller. I urge you all to get out and see it while it's at the cinemas and help support Aussie films. It came out last week and needs more bums on seats. Get on facebook too www.facebook.com/swervefeaturefilm. Let me know what you's think |

Cheers man, it was a hell of a stunt. Ya don't see many like that anymore. It was fitted with an interior roll-cage, doors were wired shut, then it was driven by a stunt driver off a ramp at 80kmph!. We blew up the Saab on one day and rolled the Fairlane the next. It was an epic week!

My Dad had a Saab 9'3 turbo which had a manufacturer fault sludge problem and needed a new engine. Then after that the turbo blew and spat metal fragments all through the new one. It's all repaired now (after thousands of dollars), but I think he got his revenge on the Saab company by blowing one up - immortalized in cinema! It's a cracker of an explosion too!

Doesn't look too bad at all, looks like the kind of thing I'd enjoy.
Might see if I can convince a bunch of mates to come see it.

Haha classic pic! We could blow up and barrel roll whatever cars we wanted, but the Fairlane and Saab were classy enough without being too expensive. We had 2 of each.
I wanted to buy the un-crashed Fairlane after the shoot to replace my AU Forte (extractors, hawk, rims, low etc.) but decided against it and saved my dosh. It probably wont be on at cinemas for too much longer, so if you wanna see it, get along to it quick, Aussie films get a really bum deal and are usually over-run by the U.S. films in a couple of weeks. Here's where it's showing: www.swervefeaturefilm.com/screenings.html |

Nice one Sean..getting the word out.
Just so you all know Sean is a super talented editor here in Sadelaide who usually spends his time working on films like Potter, hunger Games, Green Lantern etc... Hope the film pays off dude.

Looks pretty good, see the cop is the bad guy as usual, seems to be the way in most films these days, doesn't leave much room for trying to guess who the bad guy might be.
Good to see proper prangs too, not that hollywood stuff where a car blows up and flys straight up in the air. Hope the Bronco doesn't get trashed.

Aussie film industry really isn't doing too well, no one goes and sees them at the movies. People prefer watching masterbatorychef every night.
Jaydee... the cop isn't necessarily the bad guy. Swerve is a film noir... Emma Booth plays one hell of a femme fatale. Grunter: we're trying to get it out to more cinemas, but it's really hard, they just don't want to take risks on Aussie films, they'd much prefer put Avengers / Prometheus on an extra screen cos the know it's a $ure thing to get bling. Mafia: we're still trying to get it out on to more of the remote screens. Do stay tuned, get on www.facebook.com/swervefeaturefilm and keep an ear out. Our single screen in WA has actually been our most lucrative so far! |
