Talking Who recognises this E series?

G'day all,

I got an enquiry from Peter, a new E series owner who bought an EL Fairmont at the auctions. There was still an E series sticker on it so obviously the previous owner was a member in Victoria. He's interested to find out more about the car.

Does anyone recognise it?

Cheers!

Thanks Wayne. It has the same ride height, spoiler and pin striping... plates are different but that doesn't mean much.

'05 Dec 6: car stolen from Glen Waverley around 9-11 PM
'05 Dec 7: car found, minus rims, amp, sub, auto shifter, tail lights and spoiler brake light...ignition barrel was forced.
'05 Dec 15: Max reports the car would need a respray and possible a new auto and is planning his upgrade.
'06 Feb?: Peter purchases car from auctions...

Peter said there is an E series sticker, but there is none in the picture. Max says the only sticker is only the left hand side (thus not visible in the pic). I'm convinced.

awww man, max won't be happy if it is his.
its quite likely since it was sold with no wheels (cheap options put on it)
would have needed re rego if it was to be sold again.
either way, i'll let max fill in the details if it is his car.

Yeah it definitely is the same car. It would suck if his car was around all the time.
What is Max driving now ?

I thought write offs can't be re-registered? That's the point of a being a write off isn't it?

2 types of write off.
economical write off: repairing would be worth more then a certain amount of the value of the car, not worth it.
statutory write off: car is structurally damaged beyond repair, cannot be repaired and reregistered.

Of course they can. However there are two different types of WO.

1. Statutory - Car can never go back on road and numbers are cancelled.
2. Economic - free to be repaired, inspected (RWC and VicRoads) then registered.

Ah, I didn't know that. Most people I know write it off beyond repair
