Default AU2 wiring loom

Hi, I'm new here. Thanks to all for a great forum, just browsing I've found lots of info.
Can anyone help me with some info on AU2 wiring looms? I want to fit a power ariel to my '00 Forte' which didn't have one factory fitted. I've had a quick look behind and around the glove box but can't find the plug in the loom for it. So, do I need glasses or did Ford fit different looms to different vehicles? Maybe there is a bit of wiring I need that plugs in between. It doesn't have a power ariel switch either, do I need to fit one and fit the wiring through this as well? I'm fitting a genuine ariel so connections are factory. In the X series all the wiring was there for the extras just needed to plug them in. What extras they had anyway.
Thanks
Al

Well, for memory it was an Option on the AU Fortes and Futura from factory, but it was a long time ago so i cant remember.

Each models had a different Wiring Loom, but the AU Forte should be the same as the AU XR which did come with the power aerial on the later models, as for a swich they never had one on the XR's just up and down when ever you turned the radio on / off or the car.

The Power airial is controled by the BEM. My XR has a pink BEM that controls the power arial. I believe XR's have the high series BEM , no idea what colour the base models use.

The forte, doesn't have the feature in the BEM. You will need to organize your own electronics to control it. Otherwise, if you have an aftermarket headunit, you can wire it straight up to that. But you won't be able to adjust the height on the aerial. Like Fairlanes, and Fairmonts can.

Thanks all, I'll cancel that appointment for glasses. I'll do some more investigating around the BEM and if I fluke an easy solution I'll post it on the site.
Thanks again!

Check out the radio circuit wiring diagrams - that should give you an idea of which wire to look for. Wiring Diagrams Link

I fitted a power aerial to our AU2 Forte, but for the life of me I cannot remember if there was a loom/plug there or not! Sorry.
