Default New Mondeo owner.

Hi all, taking collection of a new White MC Zetec Diesel next week. Have been searching for the perfect family car for the last year and after considering several cars we found the Mondeo ticked the most boxes. Really liked the way the car drives! First diesel we've owned so really looking forward to visiting the local petrol station a little less.

Cheers.

Great stuff. Saw a white MC being test driven on the weekend. The small external changes on the new model make it look a bit more sleeker. Would love you to post some photos external and internal if you can!

Welcome to the forum, I'm sure you'll enjoy the car and you certainly wo't be visiting petrol stations very often. Can you let us know what your economy is like once it's run in; the revised diesel engine in the MC is meant to be more economical.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. We pick the car up on Wednesday so I'll try and get some pics and post them up on the weekend. Will also keep an eye on the economy and post some updates over the next few weeks. This will actually be my wife's car and I have to say I'm a little jealous after the test drives Ive had. Such a lovely car to drive. The engine was much quieter than any 4 cylinder diesel Id driven or heard before and it was creamy smooth with effortless power. I drive a DSG golf GTI and the new powershift transmission in the Mondeo is well smoother than mine. I think ill be trying to pry the keys out of my wife's hands any chance I get!

Picked up the car today, beautiful car. All the drivers manuals were for the MB, so will have to sort that. Tried to upload photos without any luck. Will have another go later.

Maybe, thats why the Mondeo is a poor seller, people aren't prepared to wait, like you and go to another brand. FORD really need to look at their supply problems. Enjoy!!!

Wife and I did a round trip of 120 kms today with 90% Hwy driving. Average fuel consumption was 5.4 lt per 100 kms. Really happy with that, especially considering we had the a/c on the whole time.

Very nice! Any chance you could take a few pics of it with the hatch open? For the life of me I can't find any pics of the open hatch on the net.

I think the white looks better on the MC model because of the darker black grill instead of the previous Zetec models which has crome/silver grill.

Why white Dusty was told white is considered a fleet color and because of that lower resale value!

My partner says it's not a colour but a tone.

Easier to pick the fight, and if another colour makes her happy, makes me happy (not a big issue for me, just a colour preference).

I love the look of white with tinted windows. Another reason we went for white is that it is supposed to be the most visible colour on the road. Safety was a big issue for us with a couple of little ones in the back.

Looks great nice choice. I almost went the white too it really suits the MC but then again I don't have to worry about resale values.

I like the new rear styling, but not so sure about the front. The black air inlet looks bigger than it used to, or is it just the changes to the grille that give that impression?

Definitely prefer the new wheels to the older Y-spoke design.

I have to say the photos don't do the front end justice. With the front end squared off at the bottom it looks quite sleek in the flesh. It really grows on you. I'd say it's my favorite part of the car. The tail lights look great at night as well.

Economy so far is excellent. First tank and we have only just hit the half way mark and have done over 500kms with the distance to empty reading around 520 kms. Average fuel consumption is currently sitting on 5.9lt/100km.

Nice car!! We are looking to buy a Mondeo Zetec TDCi, at this stage most likely in white.

I have to say that I find the colour range of the MC's somewhat uninspiring.... We live in Canberra and drove to Sydney the other day just to look at colours and none of the colours featured in the brochure look the same in the flesh.

The Mondeo is designed for Europe. Most cars purchased there are black with a much lesser but growing number silver. Australian drivers for whatever reason prefer any colour other than black maybe due to the heat effect.

This makes a lot of sense.... never thought of it like that. I have to agree, Australia is far too hot to consider buying a black car (at least for me) and I don't like the idea of having to wash it every second day either.
