the car was most likely driven by the owners son or daughter....
so crusing the car is not the answer....

Didn't realise a TT went quick enough to even make it a 'race' with an FPV...

Wonder if it's the same FPV that raced the Ferrari(?) last year and got away....

If so, the owner is one silly sausage.

interesting point... IIRC though the falcon involved with the ferrari last year was silver with orange stripes?

Agreed. It would be a different tone in here if the car racing, either a FPV of HSV, hits an innocent member of the public and someone got killed.

With all the racing venues we have, people should leave this sort of stuff oiff the streets and take it to the track.

Yeah, because those 1781cc Turbo I4 vs 5408cc V8 races are very even. The stupid, funny thing is... if it was a 3.2 V6 TT, an FPV GT would see nothing but taillights!

220km/h racing is stupidity. Though when I hear that its early morning on a freeway, its much less stupid. Its a hard thing to judge actually, because I think the big, good freeway speed limits should be more in line with the 160km/h mark. But that's another issue entirely...

As much as it's very wrong putting the pedal to the metal on public streets I'm amazed at the angles here make a comment saying what a tool etc.....
Bet more than half of you don't stick religiously to the speed limit I certainly will admit I'm not perfect, I love giving my T3 a good boot full but there's a time and a place.

Too many hypocrites on here harp on about how responsible they are on the roads, this and that. Last time I drove anywhere with people from this forum (and I religiously stick to 10km/h over the speed limit except when its wet) I was miles behind everyone. But then they'll come on the interweb and be the Gods of road saftey and driving within the law. Rightio.

I am no saint and have bent a law or 2 (just in the last 3 weeks)

Agreed, but when I am in the car myself, or just with my family, then I drive religiously to the road rules. I know pretty closely, although not personally, not only the physical but also the financial implications of when it all goes wrong on the roads. Doing the wrong thing when crap happens can really mess you up in many ways.

That said, I have to admit that I have succumbed to an almost peer pressure situation whilst on cruises, or when driving in the vicinity of some friends and family. I know more these days why I shouldn't, and when people start getting stupid I disengage a lot earlier - even if I do cop a ribbing later. But don't read that I never do anything wrong.

That said, while I agree that if someone is going to do 220km/h in an urban area, it is better they do it on a motorway, but that sort of speed on any form of road in a highly populated area (even in the wee small hours of the morning) is nothing but stupidity.

People:

There is a big difference to giving your car a fanging up the Clyde mountain, going 10 kays over the limit, or holding it open a little longer than you should have, compared to street racing.......

I know what crime the cops would probably let you off with a warning for........ I always give my cars large, especially up Macquarie Pass or the Clyde, i dont street race.
