Default Guess what this doovalacky is

Because I have NFI

It is a plated Brass Cap with a thread which is only 10mm smaller than the face diameter of ~63mm. Paper-ish sealing gasket

Model T Ford (1924 to 1927) Fuel Cap like this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/1926-1927-f...item41a6456da1 and http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages...tml?1252591271 It'll polish up nicely.

so a very quick search and well
https://www.collectorsweekly.com/sto...eaded-fuel-cap
its very similar to this Gas cap for a Ford 1926 & 1927

It wasn't hard to ID (where's my prize :-) ) as sadly I am old enough and came from isolated rural area that was poor enough for these to still be common on cars (and especially farm vehicles) when I was a child. We had a 1927 Holden bodies Hudson Essex Super Six converted to a light pickup.

It not the age that bothers me ( it's better than the alternative outcome); it's the increasing decrepitness that seems to go along with it that bothers me; my arthritis constantly reminds me of it.

With a good clean up it will make a good addition to your man cave if you have one.

That is a Wing Wong for a Gooses Bridle. Well, Ok it's a T Model fuel cap. Fits a 44 gallon drum as well, I think.

It'a gas cap like this http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/708324/753611.html but you don't seem totally convinced so:

a) Join that forum and ask per http://www.mtfca.com/cgi-bin/discus/...g=instructions

b) Search that forum using the term "Gas Cap" http://www.mtfca.com/cgi-bin/discus/search.cgi

Note most you find now have the silver plating polished off so they are now shiny brass coloured and many now have a vent hole drilled in them and then a splash guard inserted in the base so the fuel doesn't splash out the added vent hole.

Although perhaps it's one of these UK ones: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/708324/805058.html and https://www.adverts.ie/parts-accesso...r-cap/10049049
