Speeding is speeding, doesn't matter how you get caught.
Gotta give them points for enguinity I suppose, but how do they stop them, radio ahead or full gallop?

Anyone who has lost a motorcyclist friend knows speed kills. getting away with it, now that takes skill. I would be happy if everyone just concentrated on driving but those days are gone

Funny how speeding in the more dangerous areas is not policed
because it's too dangerous for police to do so....

Instead police find the "fishing" easier in areas that are less dangerous....

What does it say when police resort to hiding speed cameras to catch people when
we're told that by the time you see the police, they already have your speed checked.

Police shouldn't have to resort to covert operations, if indeed everyone is speeding
then they should be able to stand in plain sight and catch plenty.

Around my way not that many locals speed imo so our local finest dont have to resort to those type of outdated tv show style tactics anyway.

Im happy to say all our local copper's do a great job all things considered!!

Define Speeding. How many Km's over the speed limit would you define as Speeding in your personal opinions?

I'm one of those unlucky people whos has been caught (years ago) using a cruise control
that exceeded speed limit going slightly down hill, engine brake doesn't cut in until over 10 kph..

And yeah, it was in a Falcon.

Speeding isnt really the issue now, its texting , doing makeup, reading the paper.

Time for harsh penalties.

You spin the tyres and its hooning , but its the distractions these days that are the killers.

Sometimes the posted limit is too fast for the conditions, which is one of many reasons the singular focus on speed is so counter productive. People are being conditioned to believe that if they simply obey the posted limits they're driving safely.

I don't know what it is with mobile phones and texting that so many are
compelled to continue looking at and touching their phone while driving.

I use SIRI paired to the car's radio to receive and make calls as well as
"read" and send texts all without touching my phone or looking away
from the traffic.

as gas posted above..

the 85th percentile whet happened to it??
the speed limits are to slow, otherwise they nobody would be caught speeding.. no; not a play on words, people know what speed is acceptable
and drive accordingly, but frustration gets the better when there is no overtaking,
or some fool on a Sunday drive in the right lane..

Mobile phones and driving is an epidemic. It is so dangerous. All i do now is watch peoples heads to see if they look down and stay clear.

Riding a motorbike now is a suicide mission.

Driving and texting is actually Dangerous driving.

First offence 6 point and $1000. Second 3 months walking and $2000. See how many people text then.

As i said above, the tech is there to use phones without looking or touching.

I'm convinced that it's obsessive behavior and no amount of threats works,
you have to exclude them from driving to get the message through.

Agree my BA/BF is old, But my VF SSVR (daily) can do it all , no need to touch the phone. AND if its that important pull over to talk / text.
