A mate of mine called my today having spotted another Venom AU XR6 ST. Considering that not many of the 125 ST's were in Venom i thought this was a pretty good find.
But this reminded me of a mate of mine from my Engineering Materials class at uni. On the way to work last year, he used to see his car's identical twin at least 3 or 4 times a week. This was prety rare as they both were EF Gli's in green, both lowered, both with very similar 18" chrome wheels, both with a 2 1/2" exhaust and (the best bit) both with different spellings of the same number plate King 4L. Who wants to bet they both had king springs... Who else has found a twin for their car? (not so much interested in "i spotted someone with the same stock blueprint ba xr6...") It's always nice to know when another great mind thinks alike...

Not more then 50 meters down the street is 2 cars the same model and colour as mine. Number plates are very scary close. And the 2 cars live in the same street 3 houses apart.
One night i was driving almost home turned into my drive and behind the gates when this car pulled up behind me really fast. I jumped out and bolted to the car and said nicely WTF You doing here???? The driver and passenger started laughing and then apologise for the mistake they thought i was this other guy who drives the other VP, they couldn't understand why he was going in this driveway was he up to something?. Anyway it was a bit funny after.

Last trip down to Brisbane I saw 5 white BA XT's lowered (17's not 18's like mine) and with the same hood decals as mine at a used car lot along the moorooka magic mile.
I used to be a member on boostcruising.com and he spotted my car on there and STOLE - thats right STOLE my idea!! needless to say I was not impressed, my unique status was shattered, went home, sat in a corner rocking back and forth for a good hour....... :(

Apparently (Sourbastard spotted it) there is a clone of my car in Adelaide. Same paint, same rims, same suspension, almost identical plates.
Imitation is the best form of flattery.

I almost thought my car was stolen the other day...
There was a Ba Fairmont Ghia driving by, and i thought gee that looks good... GEE that looks alot like mine!!..... it was EXACTLY the same color, had the boss bonnet, black windows, slammed, but was missing big shiny wheels, and an extremely loud exhuast note... :hihi: And i thought it was unique.... time to leave my car at my mates spray shop for a while i think..! |

Seen a Shockwave sedan on my way to work yesterday morning a couple cars in front of me (but it was a FPV GT) close but no cigar. lol

I was seeing clones of my car everywhere, but since I've got the clear indicators, there are far less twins now! (it's very stock)

I've only seen one other exact two-tone AUII 75th Anniversary Fairlane just like mine in almost three years. We were both waiting at red lights facing each other and I flashed my lights and waved out the window and then he did the same. He was an oldie. Was exciting, I guess.

Saw a VTII Acclaim at Station Street 2 weeks ago. It's plate was QJT28* (can't remember the last number) which was extremely close to ours.
It had the same plastique hubbies as us, same colour (Orion silver) and sold by Geoff Brady Holden (now Barloworld). I got a pic, but a 1.3 megapixel camera with no zoom is limiting. |

I've seen quite a few in my area that are identical to mine, so much so that I take a quick second look to make sure it wasn't mine stolen.

Ive seen a few monsoon blue AU2 Fairmonts getting around lately... exact same as mine...
but there is a series 2 monsoon blue fairmont at uni with optional rear spoiler and chrome bumper garnish. i always park next to that car at the Industrial Design Building at uni cause its funny : ANYWAY, the guy tracked me down on here last week, sent me a PM asking where i got the chrome door handles : all in all, i think there are about 3 or 4 monsoon blue fairmonts that i see fairly regularly around this area : but mine is the loudest :P

My GF has a Mitsubishi Outlander VRX in silver. I was going to see her one day and was almost at her place. I was waiting at the lights and I thought I saw her drive through the intersection. It was exactly the same car, except the number plate was 5 digits higher, I couldn't believe it. You don't see many of them at all on the road, rarer than 380's, but to see one exactly the same, obviously brought at the same time from the same dealer was freaky.

Another bloke in canberra copied my EL, with a DL LTD. lol. Same as mine except longer. Then I added the wing, and the LTD didn't follow suit.
