Default AU engines in melbourne?

Heya guys.

I know AU engines are on ebay, for like $395 unmodified, but it's going to cost $160-220 to get it shipped down here.

Does anyone know of any places in Melbourne that sell AU long motors for around the $350 mark?

Surely we shouldn't have to go to Queensland to get out engines?

Cheers

Hey guys, i bought my AU series 2 full engine and loom and all accesorys everything needed for $550 from bundoora auto wreakers the one that i turboed, they have quite a few down there, Pat also got his AU engine from there, both with under 100,000km on them very clean units the oil in mine was clean and motorcraft filter still attached.

as for a long motor i guess you would just need to ask.

Thanks guys, I'll make some calls tomorrow. I'm sure they'd cut some price off for just the long motor?

Does anyone in Melb convert the sumps so they fit in an EF, or sell the engines with the sump already changed?
I thought a long motor was complete and a short motor was bottom end and head only

I think i've managed to score a low kay XH Ute engine with all ancilliaries from a wrecker down this way.. done 140,000 kays. It's got a 96DA head, so it's one of the last 1998 model engines. Also means its hybrid, so I will have a wade 1004 112 for sale shortly :P

I may have some ancilliaries for sale shortly if anyone's interested.

96DA head is not the hybrid, my old EL had the DA and it wasn't a hybrid.

What do the hybrids say?

That's alright, apparently it's clean, and should give the ol' crate some new life for a couple of years..

Ok, well this XH ute is apparently a 1998 model? So the XH's must have got the last of the EL engines then? Or maybe it's a 97 model XH?

XH's were behind the times. IIRC only the XR6 got the BBM too. You are better off with the old style anyway, more knowledge and parts availability.

Yeah, XH's had the single belt system like EF/EL but the old style intake manifold. My engine now is basically like an XH cos it's got the XH tensioner, single belt, etc.

It's a good price, so i can't pass it up. An AU would be nice, but an EL will do for now.
