Post 2019 Everest Gets Raptor Engine.

"Ford has updated its big family off-roader.
The blue oval brand has added fresh technology and a new engine which it has borrowed from the upcoming Ranger Raptor performance ute.
Ford's new 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel unit makes 157kW and 500Nm, which is a jump of 10kW and 30Nm over the current 3.2-litre five-cylinder turbocharged oil-burner. The new engine is also hooked up to a slick-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission.
The new engine is standard on the range-topping Titanium models and is an option on the mid-spec Trend. The base Ambiente variants remain powered by the previous five-cylinder engine that is mated to a six-speed automatic.
Ford claims that the new 2.0-litre engine reduces fuel use on a rear-wheel drive Everest Trend from 8.4L/100km to 6.9L/100km.
Towing capacity for the updated models has been raised from 3000kg to more than 3100kg.
"Everest fitted with the new Bi-Turbo and 10-speed automatic raises the bar when it comes to vehicle refinement and outright capability both on and off road," said Ford Everest chief engineer, John Willems.
"Increased power and torque means we have more potential but it’s the mating of the bi-turbo to our new 10-speed automatic that really provides access to, and the greatest use of, the Bi-Turbo’s impressive output."

Ford has also added autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, but it is not standard on the base models. Keyless entry and ignition, however, are now standard across the range.
The latest Sync3 infotainment is now available as standard across the range too along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Ford has also tweaked the Everest's styling by adding a new grille, while Trend variants get high-intensity headlights as standard and Titanium models score 20-inch alloy wheels.
All Fords now receive a five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty."

No surprises here, this engine & trans was never going to be for one vehicle only.
That's an outstanding fuel economy improvement! that's a real reason to look at Everest over the competition.

Economy in the 6's is impressive for such a huge vehicle.

True. I wonder how many are currently getting 8.4L/100km.
I doubt I would.

Quoted figures aren't real world. But it's the only comparison buyers can make really.

Anyway good engine choice for the Everest. I'm sure it will be refined and will suit the Everest perfectly.

So the 2.0 engine is optional on the Trend. How much extra is that option? Ford will run 2 engine options for the Everest it seems. Can't say I'm disappointed just buying a 3.2 4WD Trend a couple of weeks ago, still not convinced on the 2.0l A10 in a heavy vehicle.
