Default CAI Setup's For Windsors?

I know this type of question has been asked on countless occasions but ive used the ''search'' button and im having trouble finding a thread which could correspond to my question.

What would be an ideal cai setup that could be used for late e-series model v8?

Would an SSINDUCTION cai be suitable to what i might be after? they claim quite a few kilowatts can be made but im finding that hard to believe.

Maybe go for the more convential setup, tickford snorkel with a panel filter and enlarging a bigger hole on the bottom of the airbox would be the way to go?

Any pictures, links, opinions are again very welcomed......cheers

I've just got a EL GT intake snorkel and K&N panel filter. It seems to work well enough, although if I had my time over again I probably wouldn't bother.

Ditto, minus the K&N. Stock-ish wheezers don't really benefit from aftermarket cold air intake setups.

Yeah, especially when the 55mm MAF is still there :togo:

I have the SS (rebadged Herrod) setup on my ute, its an AU but still a wheezer, honestly it wont give you the 8kw or whatever they reckon but for what they are they're a good bit of gear.
Would I buy one new, probably not, I have one because it was on the car when I bought it. It will suck your hand in if you put it over the snorkel and give it a rev, so there's definitely enough air getting there to feed the engine.
I'm going to add a Typhoon intake into the lower half of the airbox and then that will be more than enough Im sure.

On a stocker, if i were you, go for the EL GT or AU3 XR8 intake snorkel (both available from Ford spares), and whack in a K&N panel. You'll get change out of $200 and it'll do the job just fine.

Just note that with the AU snorkel it will require some moulding to clear one of the pulleys on the engine, whereas the EL GT one goes straight in. I've had both on my car so I know.

Well the car will be kept fairly close to stock so maybe i might go for the EL/AU snorkel with K&N panel filter and see how will go from there.

Once again thanks for the replies fellas!
