My mate was looking at new Focus STs the other day and he was planning on buying one eventually but didn't know if they were p plate allowed due to the turbo charged engine, so we looked on redbook and it said not determined, so just wondering does anyone know if they can be driven on p plates.

High-powered (performance) vehicle restrictions apply to P1 and P2 licence holders under the age of 25 years.
These restrictions also apply to probationary licence holders who return from a disqualification to a P1 or P2 probationary licence, when at the time of the offence they were under 25 years of age. These restrictions apply for the duration of the probationary period regardless of age. High-powered (performance) vehicles include those with: eight or more cylinders a turbocharged or supercharged engine that is not diesel powered ....... I'm taking that as a no then, even if he applied for an exemption it's 1kw per tonne over 125, even tho it meets all the other exemption requirements. Thanks for your help.
