mate personally thats cheap, my mate got stuck halfway to melbourne, from half way to melbourne cost him 2 grand, but 2 grand from melby to qld is a good price, safer and a secuered way of getting it up in one peace, then trying to fight your way with a car tralier up imo

you are going to struggle to find someone under 2k.
i drove to nsw for a wedding about 6months ago and bent a rod in the motor, and we flew back and left the car at a family members house in blacktown. it ended up being cheaper for me to take a week off work and fly up and fix the car then get it towed back than what it was to transport it down not running. transport was $312 from nsw to melb flights were $220 and fixing was $800 in parts and i was quoted cheapest $2400 to cart down not running on a flat bed.

im in mt gambier , i need to get my dead motor BF XR8 to Autotech in sydney , try Warnembool car freight , costing me $736 to get it door to door. It is a sub-contracted job but cheaper than the $2000 i was quoted originally also. Its $512 to get it sent back also.

Try Trewin transport, I got a XP coupe from Newcastle to Perth for $1600. It was a roller too, And when it got here, I did not realise it had no front springs so it would of been a c#@t to load and unload!
