Not sure about the front of the car, but the rest is awesome, especially the interoir. This would be a very tempting car. Does come with an option of the powershift gearbox?

I'm just mocking it up with a numberplate to see if that breaks it up a bit more...

Spot the FG Falcon styling cues!

depression along the bottom of the doors (where the stickers go on the GT)
mirrors
door handles
wheels are pretty obvious FG XR 18's
grill pattern

Damn sexy Hot hatch though, i'd love to own one in exactly that colour scheme with those brakes and wheels.

You'll find the door indents started back on the mondeo, the FG XR 18's are copy of the XR5T focus wheels. Its more FG designers took cues from FOE's kinetic design language.

Oh Dear. I'm sure they'll sell a few in black.

Ford sold Aston Martin but must have kept the designers!

is it just me or does the front air dam (the black bit) resemble the floor peice of a vacuum cleaner? it kinda reminded me of this which I also think has been slammed in the front with the fugly stick

I believe I was right buying the LV or current model XR5 it doesn't look sucky in the face and its got the imho cooler 5 cylinder motor

They'll probably sell a few in QLD, the front is reminiscent of a Cane Toad

Rear looks a bit busy, but im a fan overall. With 185kw it should be quick. Shame they'll loose the 5cyl aural presence.

I like it, but i would like it more if it had a bit of an opening/grill around the Ford badge it self, kinda how the EL differs from the EF, never liked the full body look around the badge personally but this is still nice

I like it; exterior and interior.
It is how the ST should look.
I'm glad they kept the current ST wheels with some small color adjustments.

I love my XR5T because of the I5T, though the next Gen RS (rumoured hybrid) could get a look in from me if Ford OZ bring it in.

I just hope with this next model Focus (base to RS) Ford OZ don't skimp out on the options. I do miss the opportunity to have gotten bluetooth, cruise control, Xenons, etc.

I love that, the whole thing looks excellent. But the front looks a bit...... Great Wall Motors.

Might be something us "playstation generation" kids are in to I reckon.

One problem I see is that if all models come standard with "ecoboost" engines, that means it will be illegal for P platers to drive it, unless they make exceptions which has only happened with one specific engine from Volkswagen so far and some of Mercedes cars.

Paris Preview: 247-hp 2012 Ford Focus ST set to go global

by Damon Lavrinc (RSS feed) on Sep 15th 2010 at 12:02AM

Earlier this year, Ford promised us a hotter version of the all-new Focus, and at this month's Paris Motor Show, the Blue Oval is sticking to its word.

The 2012 Ford Focus ST will be the brand's first high-performance model developed under the watchful eye of its global performance vehicle team, and while the hatch you see here is being billed as a "design study," make no mistake – this will form the basis of the ST coming to market in early 2012.

Power is provided by an EcoBoost 2.0-liter inline four churning out 247 turbocharged horsepower, and Ford promises that the ST's handling and aural delights will live up to the marque's performance heritage. FoMoCo also makes it clear that the ST is bound for "all global markets from early 2012" so those of us in the States should finally get a crack at what's traditionally been a Euro-only affair.

Joining the Focus ST in Paris will be the new Mondeo and C-Max, both powered by Ford's new range of fuel-efficient gasoline and diesel-powered drivetrains. Make the jump for the full details.

Think that looks phenomenal. Hopefully we will get the tech that comes with it too, My Ford and Ford SYNC with the Touch Screen display would be awesome. I for one like the looks, infect I love them. It'll stand out, and I bet in reality it'll be even better looking. Love the new Tangerine Scream, like Electric Orange with a hint of yellow.
