Could anyone advise me on whether my 2017 FORD MONDEO TREND TDCi MD 5D HATCHBACK PETROL TURBO is classed as a high performance car from an insurance point of view in NSW?

Which one is it, because it can't be both.

The TDCi 132kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel is not likely to be anything more than mid range classification but it's possible the 149kW/345Nm 2.0-litre EcoBoost turbo petrol model might be classified higher in some cases. It's one of the reasons it pays to shop around because, realistically, the TDCi is only 0.2 seconds slower in the 0-100 km/h dash!

Yes - trying to sort out an insurance company. It is not listed on the NSW Govt as a high performance vehicle.

Yes u wouldn't consider either of them(petrol or diesel) high performance, but who knows with insurance companies, I'm in Sydney & insured my MD TCDI with Woolworths, they seemed like a fair price(don't take there fancy cover, they have a no frills cover which is much cheaper)

I doubt any mondeo model we get here would be classed as performance, apart from maybe the ST24 back in the day.
the ST200 I had in the UK though.... |
