Default custom headlight protectors

hi there,

dont know if people have seen them but I was just wondering if it was possible to make custom headlight protectors like the ones from autobarn with the black stickers on them to make them look like round lights but instead of having black sticker make it the colour of the car..?

Painting headlight covers is illegal, the rules state basically it is illegal to change/alter or impeed the light reflected from a headlight.

I've seen a few AU XRs with bright green headlight covers to replicate the look of Craig Lowndes's old 00 Motorsport V8 supercar. That would be the same sort of situation, wouldn't it?

Correct, drive till you get fined or warned, asked to remove them on the spot, then decide if you risk it and put them back on.

but what i dont undersatdn is they make them in black which you can buy from autobarn and the link so if you just go exactly the same stickers amde up which they use on these with the wholes in them so the light can stil shine through but instead of black in the colour of your car how can this be a problem?

If everything any auto store sold was for road legal use, then I will eat my hat of your choice, check the package, there will more then likely be a pretty little sticker hidden away that says 'off road use only'.

yeah mate most of the stuff in the auto stores is not street legal and they say its for offroad only. also it is illegal to paint or stick anything on your lights so all i can suggest is if u wanna do it have em on during the day and if you get pulled up try to claim ignorance. i wouldnt risk having em on with the lights on though just in case.

If you where going to do it you would have to make sure that no light would get through the sticker i.e.: change the colour of the light, especially if it was blue or red.
