A dump truck. Don't know what size it was, but it wasn't one of those large mining ones, just a regular ordinary old dump truck. That was over in America and it was manual. Got stuck going up the drive in to the winery I was working at due to being stuck in the wrong gear.
Ever tried doing a hill start in a dump truck? Especially the first (and only) time you've driven one! Next biggest thing would be the Ford F350 Truck the winery owned.

I used to operate scrapers in the Corryong-Khancoban areas. Rolled one once, but luckily it was on a soft earth embankment so it was OK and we pulled it upright with a D9.

A 65ft high thunderbird swing yarder,(cable machine that pulls bunches of pine trees up and/or down hills) weighs about 50 tonne and surpise surprise is about 65 ft high.
I drive that everyday from sunrise to sunset, and can't wait to get off it, onlything worse than hydraulic hose is wire rope. I regulary drive 30 tonne cat excavators on 20-25 degree slopes. doesn't sound steep but believe me it is. they weld toenails onto the grouser plates to give some grip so it just doen't take off on ya. still does but. |

A 29,000ton P&O Passenger Ship called SS Orsova in the early 70s, was at the helm for about 15mins. I was only 12 at the time.
