Hi all,
Well I got rid of my XM Falcon a few months back and randomly saw this Cortina and bought it which is a bit of a change. 4 cylinder rego helps a bit too! More of a weekend thing than anything, here are a few pics, should see it next week! Weirdly both are similar in colour set up! I'm sorta keeping things Australian?

Nothing wrong with a 4cyl Corty!
I do like the coke bottle ones. I have a '66 - great car. I assume you are going to have a play with it! |

If it wasn't coke bottle I wouldn't have bought it, it has to have some old school style to it! Not really going to play with it, will be staying stock like the Falcon did.

I'm looking for the rubber rear bumper guards for a TC, I've looked on the net but can't find anything, anybody got any advice on where to look?

Hey, Have a look at this company http://www.smckaperformance.com.au/smcka/ I haven't used them but i have been looking at a lot of their products on e-bay and they seem like they import most stuff.
Let me know how you go!!

smcka (aka Steve) lives, breathes and dreams these cars. Easy to deal with and prompt service. I ordered some vented discs at a Sat. show recently (there was a rush on the 2 sets he brought along - I was 3rd in line) and they turned up on Wed.

I have one in green. I think it's the round lights that make them so much sexier than the TDs

Like a lot of older cars it is hard to find a decent original without crap added to them like huge wheels, tint, different steering wheel, etc If you are looking of an old girl, look for a tidy stocker, they are still out there you just gotta look! PS nothing is perfect, you will always have slight issues even on a mint car (unless you have a bottomless cash pit)

If they just managed to find an untouched Aston Martin DB5 locked in a garage in England after 30 years then I should be able to find a good Mk III Cortina ! |

There is a very tidy and original 76 cortina advertised in gumtree in WA ATM but 15k for rectangle head lights is a big ask but damn it looks good

Hey buddy, got any pics of the dash, I just got rid of my AU Falcon Futura and bought a 1974 TC Cortina, just need to identify a few things as some of the switches are broken. The only 2 switches that arent broken are the window wipers, and the headlights, found out that the one below the wipers is the fan, waiting on a replacement switch to arrive, do you know what the switch is under the headlight switch, and can you tell me where the switch is for the window washers?? Do you know where the best place to get parts, I need to find the display for the hot/cold display for the dash. The car is a light blue, trying to find someone Brisbane northside to sand it back and paint it for me, I just dont know what I'm doing when it comes to that sort of stuff and I need to remove a bit of surface rust as well

That's a nice Corty mate, hopefully mine will look as good when finished. I've bought a lot of parts from the UK, still a lot of stuff available there for these, known at the MK3 there.
Early TD models had round lights too.

Does anyone know where to find the wiring relay for the barkes and indicator on a TC cortina, my brake lights, indicators, fuel guage and temp guage have all stopped working, the guages work until I put my foot on the brake and then my guages slowly go down, once you atke your foot of the brake the guages go back to working again, can anyone help out

Pull the bonnet and have a look at the fuse bank above and to the driver's side of the brake booster - you'll have those dodgy "bullet" end fuses. Roll them back and forth in their sockets a few times, you should see a marked improvement. Failing that, get some fine emery paper, dress the fuse ends and the cradle/pin seats. Get used to doing it mate, one of the joys of owning a Corty. Cheers!

Further to my last post (as I'm getting the ***** with trying to edit it multiple times)
You'll see where the wiring harness plugs in to one side of the fuse panel, pull them off / give them a good wriggle around too. I've no idea why Ford put the fuse box or those crap fuses in such a weather beaten place. Let us know how you get on. Cheers!
