nope. Its an EA, if you look further down you can see a pic of the body from the side.
I think its using the stock Lexus auto that comes with the 8. Theres another interesting Falcon in there somewhere.... |

Brilliant engines and transmissions those ...beyond brilliant in fact; they are divine. And the conversions are not that pricey, the guy who did it to his NA (I have pics if needed) only spent a few grand. But no doubt there would be a bit of custom work involved. Would make a hell of a sleeper. Great to see.

from the looks of that EA, sump and oil pickup(i believe the lexus V8 has a front pickup, and the ea bay only allows for a rear pickup), radiator, bellhousing ( if you want to put a celica / supra behind it) and headers are the hardware items you'd require.
then wolf3d to run it. would be super cool :toocooc: |

Haha, thats mad as! I've always loved those 4ltr V8's, and i wanted to put one into a 2wd hilux or cram one into our capella. That hilux at the dyno day was so mad i don't reckon you even need one of these V8's to make one rip though ;)

Probably cheaper to turbo but then again, those V8's are tough as and love boost! They have a 6 bolt mains standard. Mmmm twin turbo V8 eb

There are a few other conversions in that forum into things like VL-VNs and Hiluxes and the total cost was only a few grand. The engines themselves can be had for under a grand so if your competent with the spanners i dont see it being too difficult/expensive with a bit of mucking around. Getting it running sweet is another matter... |

the all Alloy V8 is still fairly heavy(a bit heavier than a crossflow six) cos of all its cams 32 valves and heavy duty over engineering. before i blew my diff up it had 2.92 and took off as good as a good 250 crossflow, upto around 2500rpm when its starts to accelerate faster (not a sudden rush just smooth increase in pick up) i like the thing, but as i said in the lextreme.com forum if you spent the same money on a 351 or 4.0 six you'd have a far quicker car without the need of the hassels and engineering thats associated |

Yea it really needs some work done to it, they combine the best of small hihg-revving screamers and put it in a V8 package. Stuff the low end torque, rev the tits of her!
Bigger pipes, custom intake and a good ECU to run it all. That 6500rpm redline is pathetic, its a V8 that can safely rev past 8000rpm for gods sake! But you knew that already... |
