Interesting!

Can only be a good thing. Not the car, the competition.

As far as I know, TRD Aurion will be available in January 07.

Not sure of any further specs, and it doesn't come with a manual transmission.

Despite what everyone says, i think this thing will be a serious threat and will probably be in the end of the 380.

If the interior and fuel economy are up to scratch with 204 kw- it will sell no doubt about it

Hey if the usual Toyota quality is there unlike Ford/Holden then I would buy one as a family hack over another Falcon. Stuff going to the dealer twice a month to fix warranty issues...

i agree and even though it is a toyota they make pretty strong motors and i think the TRD version will be the one that breaks into the prefomance market and breaks up the ford/holdon domanation HOWEVER they would wanna make sure the gearbox is tough as nails and can haddle some power because i can see people buying these and wanting to run more boost/ feed more power though them and thats what i base my descion on when i buy an AWD car is can the box handle the power?

I think we can almost safely say that the 380 will be no more if this thing sells well.

Maybe the turbo Aurion AWD will become the new Civic for "ricers." There would be a large export market there.

You can almost bet the 380 will be no more even if the Aurion doesn't sell well, if current sales are anything to go by.

That article only talks about the Toyota Aurion, which will be FWD with an N/A V6.
The TRD Aurion will be AWD, with a Supercharger bolted on to the same V6. I'd say that power will be in the vincinity of 250KW or more, given that bolting a turbo to the Barra I6 took power from 182KW to 240KW.

This article was written in July, and basically tells you what I just did. Haven't heard any more since.

I with you Merlin... When I am in the market for a new family car, I would chose the Toyota over a Ford any day for the same reason as you mention.. poor after market service...

If I were the CO of Ford I would be very nerveses of the Aurion.. It has a body shape that would appeal to the majority as it's not a in your face look like the Commodore... Most buyers don't give 2 hoots whether is a FWD or RWD. So being a FWD will not affect the sales.. And it has exellant fuel economy, which at the moment with the cost of fuel and the fear of petrol hitting $2 ltr, it makes the Aurion look more attractive to new car buyers

If it's going to compete with FPV it will have to be light and be AWD, because I'd say it will only be around 250kw at most, but i could be wrong, does anyboody know anything. It will compete with the XR6T probably though it does look good, what is FWD like compared to RWD in performance cars?

It will be AWD... pretty sure it's the same running gear from the Toyota Kluger.

260kw is the rumoured power limit.

I'm pretty certain it will be unveiled at SMS this year

Thats it, just keep telling yourself that, and everything will be fine.

Oh wait, Ford and GM already tried that, and now they're going down the gurgler while Toyota takes over the world...

Dude, blackahcdx is right, it's just a Camry with a different nose on it & V6 engine. They are obviously fooling some people into thinking that it's not a V6 Camry.

3.5L V6 with 204KW? Not impressed... I'm still waiting for the new honda legend. That will have 225KW from only a 3.5V6. That's amazing for such a small capacity...
