Default Clevo into EA

I'm just about to start putting a 351 clevo with C10 into my EA, due to prematurely destroying an auto, is there any structural problems with this that anyone knows of?

What are you doing with your turbo stuff?

Sorry I can't help with your question, but I have to ask!

The first thing is do you expect to get it past the engineers? The reason that i ask is because i have had the same projet on hold because they would not even think of letting it through. It is still sitting in my old work shop. The main things where chassis strength plus brakes and steering geo.Getting the thing to fit is fun and to wire it up is no problem its jut bloody vic roads that are a pain in the asrs.

im also interested to know how if the V8 outta those cars or the NC fairlanes will fit into my NA fairlane and if it would pass engineering...
im in QLD btw..

i emailed ford the question and they emailed back with an automated response that basically said... go see a dealership

I have only seen one EA with clevo on the street, and it was straight LPG for emissions. Used EL GT brakes etc. Is waaaaay easier to buy a EB with a windsor and stroke that.

EA actually had quite a bit less chassis strength than EB onward. The only way I can see getting a 351 into a E series car would be using a 351 injected windsor out of an F truck. Its a pain getting a older engine into a newer car legally

THe diference between the two in weight is about 150 lbs withc when put over the front end make a lot of difference i can tell you. That is the reson they quote the chassis strengh. And also the space between the strut towers is at a best a real tight fit.

Yes a 302W from an EB-AU/NC-NU will fit straight in, although you will need to convert back to a distributor if you get an AU motor.

EDIT - I'm not sure about the rules in your state, you need to ring the DOT in your state. In SA you dont need to have an inspection to change the engine over to a V8 from a 6 in an EF, as the K-frame, brakes, suspension etc is all the same.

DO you mean the weight difference between a 351C and 351W or the difference between a 6cyl EA and a V8 EB??

I did it but got stuck trying to get the headers thru engineering as it was thought they would foul the lower steering shaft. I could of redesigned them but after all the effort I put into getting it to that stage I was kind of deflated. The biggest issue i had was due to the fact that I moved the engine back 2" to improve weight distribution and not use a lenghtened tailshaft

The EB you speak of is now bright yellow with a supercharger hanging out the bonnet and runs on strait gas. Passed it in NSW I thought we were the hardest state to get a car passed.
