Another win the the FGX http://www.carsales.com.au/reviews/2...T0yMCZObmU9MjA.
Not bad for a 6 year old model.

Umm, they've just claimed the XR6 comes with satellite navigation and dual zone climate control. I was at Ford last week pricing an XR6T, the XR6 certainly does not come with those features. You can only get them as part of the luxury pack which is $4k, while sat nav is only standard on XR6T. The XR6 actually has far less features than the SV6 but they awarded it a win based on having more standard features? I think they might have got a luxury pack equipped car and thought it was standard.

Why not, they did the same for GTS versus GTF
It's a shame they seem unable to get equivalent cars to test, it really reduces the credibility of the article. Some of the things I found most interesting. Quote:

Pretty appalling review really. They've misquoted standard features, compared an auto XR6 to a manual SV6 in a drag race- granted the SV6 was still quicker but it's still not accurate. It's also the first time I've read a 50 to 70km/h acceleration split specifically mentioned mid-review, the Falcon was always going to win that because it had an auto box (they both shift to second at ~60km/h).
I'm all for Falcon scoring wins, but this review is dirty. |

I'm almost positive they did a misprint in their 'likes' column. Both second lines/points should be switched around.
-'Impressive standard features', should have gone to the sv6 -'Ride and handling', should have gone to the xr6 .....according to their review that is! I too was interested in their abnormal take on the seating positions.....and the driving dynamic win to the ford over the vf super chasis... Oh yeah I forgot to add. Looks wise I honestly think that sv6 and those wheels particularly, look faaaar inferior to the xr6 looks very nice. Those sv6s look like 4wds too....way to high....or maybe it's the big wheel arches I don't know! Last edited by 1TUFFUTE; 02-12-2014 at 12:45 AM. |

Should be a dealer option seeing as all the hardware is there.

Isn't the Commodore older? VE came out in 2007 and FG 2008, lol.

Review also says that they both have a 'load-through back seat'.
Did the VF introduce something other than that small ski port that VE had? Do the seats actually fold down? |

No 60/40 split fold rear seat on VE/VF, Ski Port only. Was knocked on the head due to cost. Seems 1 Billion dollars wasn't enough

Wouldn't surprise me that changing it would require a lot of work to the chassis.

There would be more to it if it didn't happen and it was something that they wanted to put in.

Media must be starting to feel as though they owe Ford some good press.
Ford have coped a caining from them since they trashed Mitsubishi out of Aus. |

Commodore has never had folding seats, dunno if its a GM thing or its chassis has always been too floppy. It wasnt until the VT that they actually got full length rails along the floor, Falcon had them since EA.
Just going by driving them, the Falcon has always felt more rigid than its Holden counterpart up until the VE.

15.7secs 0-400 m for the xr6 seems at least .8 seconds too slow to me,from what ive heard most fg xr6 autos run high 14s stock, unless im off the mark?
Im only going off what ive read on this forum? Seems off to me. |

I'm pretty sure MOTOR got a 14.8 and interestingly I recall the number for a 2 litre Falcon being 14.5 or 14.6 in a WHEELS test. Cool conditions and light driver. Last edited by 2242100; 05-12-2014 at 07:17 PM. |

Keep in mind though that dragstrip measured times will often be a few tenths lower than Magazine GPS measured times because of the up to around 15 inches of rollout (before the time count starts) that you can get with Falcon sized wheels at the dragstrip. Depends on whether the car is shallow or deep staged. Whatever the case though, it was obviously a pretty good result. Last edited by 2242100; 05-12-2014 at 10:26 PM. |

Ford does have a Wagon. Falcon doesn't have a wagon.
