This sounds promising, I hope it includes Australia, and at a reasonable price...

This configuration will do for me:
Edit: Only problem is it costs $48,000 not including the cost of the base Mustang!. The base price for modifications only is $40,000. Probably wishful thinking that it would be reasonably priced over here.

I don't think it's possible to make this new mustang look bad. It looks so tuff
Be interesting if they can do the Shelby thing here. There's some better pics on the Shelby GT site! |

Will be interesting to see how the price of a GT350R (if released here) will compare to a Shelby-upgraded Mustang (if made available here). I agree with the front upper-lower grille treatment, doesn't look great.

Good news. Probably a one size fits all worldwide car to appease international fans whilst retaining the 350 and 500 for LHD only. Hard to tell from one picture but I prefer the GT350 treatment. Massive HP though, good work Ford.

I must say that the visual upgrades are less then pleasing. But, gotta love how you can tick a few option boxes and have a hotrod delivered right of the showroom floor.

Should be more collectable in the long run than the other aftermarket offerings too.

Seems Yellow looks better than red. But Rather buy the Australian Mustang GT then buy Shelby 350 parts from Ford racing parts.

I'm really not liking the bonnet. That reverse cowl looks very blocky at the front and some of the vents have me scratching my head. The factory vents were extractor style but these look like they're ram scoops.

Looks great except for the grille treatment - seems like there's a lot of self-tapping screws holding it in!

Like everything except both those front grilles. Makes me want to get the front grilles hyrdo dipped to get the carbon look like the rear of the car. I have no idea why the grilles werent carbon. . . . .
So is this GT500 replacement?

Not sure on the bonnet.
That grille looks like a bogan got a can of Super Cheap Auto silver and painted it on a Saturday morning. The rest is perfect, new Mustang is one sexy car.

It just doesn't scream 'muscle car' at me, its too subtle and doesn't appear aggressive.

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea but I’d be as happy as a pig in it to find one parked in my garage.
I just hope the Aussies won’t have to settle for only the entry level GT and will be given the opportunity to purchase the more up spec models like the GT350 and GT500 as well these aftermarket upgrades. Come on Ford give the good guys down under who’ve supported you for years the opportunity to play as well. It’s not like they’re a McLaren with half a dozen built a year – the Mustang is a massed produced car and if you can make the GT in RHD you can make all the variants in RH as well.

That's a big assumption. Ford have made a big deal out of all the new parts going on the GT350, and it appears it's these parts that could be keeping the model LHD only. If the GT500 is based off the GT350 then it'll probably be more bad news. If Ford also only intend to sell these models where they're going to be raced, they're unlikely to change RHD availability

Unfortunately we won't see it like it is in America. We couldn't believe (well, we had a fair idea, but it amazed us to see it) that Mustangs were just a normal family car...mums dragging kids out to Mustangs, child seats in the back, with piles of shopping loaded into the boot, people in traffic driving grimy ones to work in the morning traffic, etc. That's because of the stupidly low price over there which makes it a viable alternative for a stylish family car.
The price they will be sold here for will just about ensure they are a limited availability scarce car on the roads. Not a lot will be sold...which is sad, as if sold at a normal price they would walk out the door in huge numbers. But then again I have seen comments online saying that would be a good thing, to keep it "exclusive" as some enthusiasts (probably people who would never even be able to buy a new Mustang anyway, much like all the Harley t-shirt people: probably 90% haven't got one, and never will own one...) didn't want the plebs and every Tom Dick and Harry driving one...a real upper level of snobbery at work from people who can afford a new Mustang, whatever the price will be here, and they want to keep it exclusive. Obviously the same people who honestly couldn't understand why Ford dropped the Falcon when sales just weren't high enough to warrent going on with it... |

When a Mustang is available in the left and right hand drive, could you explain what is on the higher performance left hand model that couldn’t be manufactured to suit a right hand model? Quote:
And heaven forbid if you go there and tell the Yanks only snobs in Australia drive Mustangs, they’d laugh the house down. Ford are dumb *** if they start thinking the Mustang should be price restrictive to make them exclusive, after all they are just ordinary run of the mill performance vehicles back home. I would have thought they’d want to sell as many as possible.

You know your car value is about to take a hammering when your 100k base model v8 mustang is about to share the market with brand new factory mustangs available from any ford dealer for probably 40k less.... With more performance, better handling and arguably better looks. |
