Default It This Cheap For El-gt

I came across a EL-GT in the local paper
-number 186 out of 250
-140.000km
-full leather interior
-premo sound system etc
they want $26.500 for it i was wondering if that is worth it or is it a rip off.

If I had a lazy $26k then yeah I would get it...seems about right. Highish k's for a GT though, but still low for an EL.

Thats the cheapest one ive heard of but the kays are pretty high for a gt.Most of them arent daily drivers with the odd exception like this one. Most of the gts i have seen are under 50000.They are reasonably slow and id take an el xr8 any day.

Hang on, so if money was no object you would take a XR8? Or are you saying the GT is not worth the extra $$$?

XR8 is good but GT is better. I'd love to drive an EL GT. And EL GTs were regarded as a bit slow for their price but they are still faster than an XR8.

I think im saying both, i would rather have the sleek front end look af an xr8 rather than a smoothed over cow catcher grill and yes they are not worth the extra bucks.Ford claimed a 15.2 qm time and thats pretty inflated like all of fords specs.Best thing bout gts are the mags, who said anything about if money was no object.Even if i had 30 grand i would buy the el xr8, just my opinion and i know noone on this site ever likes wot i say so i stick to my guns!!! :

EL GT has one of the best interiors Ford has ever produced, nearly worth the extra alone.
XR8 is the same as my Futura, apart from trim colour.

Yeah thats a fair price you have to remember that the GT will go up in price in years to come not like an EL XR 8 which will decrease in price The EL GT is at rock bottom now and will only go up from now.
great time to buy
$22-$31 for an High KM $32-$48 Low KM one

I was researching this not long ago, and I found BA GTs on average are cheaper, albeit with higher kms on average and less rarity. $26k is indeed "cheap".

I have a motor mag from when they were new and they got 15.06 completly stock, brand new, so I can't see how their figures are over inflated.

I can tell you right now, mine is relatievly unopened and it will run 14's no problem.

The price is pretty cheap, I bought mine 2yrs ago with 110 on the clock for similar money, and I can tell you either it or I will be dead before we part company.

Also listed in the Cars For Sale Forum. Definitely not a car Id buy, apparently it can be returned to stock but I fail to see how without leaving traces of the "mods" on it now.

I have often wondered about the el GT's, do you think they will ever be worth much, as in much more than they are now? I think the thing that klilled them was the BA GT's, every one has one and they arn't "that special" anymore, to me.
do the EL GT's go hard, or are they just an xr8 with a fat bodykit and stamps?

EL-GTs are a limited editon car. there were only 250 of them made and they are not like the BA-GTs. they dont go as hard as the BA-GTs but they are a really good car to get and they will go up in price as the years go by.

Personally thats half the reason I want one - anyone could order a BA/BF GT and voila there it is, with the EB's and EL's, theres 250 of them made, take out around 10 each that would have been written off (conservative estimate) and that leaves you 240 very desirable cars, mainly because they will never be able to be "mocked up" etc. 99% of all EL GT specific parts are NLA from Ford so you're never going to find an EL that is an accurate reproduction of one unless it was actually built as one.

That, and I reckon theyre a damn nice looking car.

edit: remembered my info wrong - 272 EL GT's made, 4 to South Africa, 12 or so to NZ, the rest were sold here. 4 prototypes made (HGT1,2,3,4) that were crushed once production models began.
