dirt cheap....

i was quoted 2500 for a manual conversion from a wreckers up here.... i almost fell over..... for AU that is...

Yep, the cost has skyrocketed that's for sure. I actually paid a little more than that, but the T5 was new old stock.

The e-series bellhousing bolts up to the AU block (albeit with 2 holes not lined up), but plenty of EA-EL owners seem to do it without issue. I believe my EB with AU motor has been like this for a few years as well.

I'm not too sure, but I think the issue lies with either the extension housing or the shifter location - can't quite remember!

I'll be watching that thread with interest though, if it's easy enough, I think I'll be flogging off my hi-stall and rebuilt auto.

For sure the manual is more fun. I guess this will put manual conversion higher up on many an AU owner's mod list! LOL!

i miss the 5 speed from my EA... i love my auto AU... but really getting the bug back for a manual cog swapper...

i believe sam_ftr put a EA T5 into a BA .. so they arnt all that different
