Default Can the Aussie cricket team win the series?

Interested in your thoughts. They're going pretty ordinary at the moment.

Well they're done for in this one they'll be lucky to pull of a draw. There bowling attack is lesser than stellar, they are missing Clarke even more in this test and well Haydo's batting is garbage.

No.

India is a young team. Looking in THe Age about a week ago, the average age of the Indian team is around mid-20s.

The AUstralian team's average is over 30.

India will be the new force, as they're young and hungry.

I think it's good for cricket though. Australia has been dominant for too long. We need to go down so we can appreciate the success. Winning constantly gets a bit boring.

No Chance, the only way the Aussies will win this series is if the indiians become too much of a smartass for their own good...

Australia will have trouble with South Africa this summer at home....

I cant forsee too many problems with NZ though, as they are STRUGGLING against the Bangers....

i commented to some work mates before the series started that we'd get spanked this series. we did the right thing in the first test. hopefully win the toss and bat first and put a big score on the board. we just don't have a world class bowling attack at the moment. lee and clark (out injured) hold up ok but it the 2nd string that really lets us down and the complete lack of a decent spinner. johnson does ok but can go for runs every now and then.

for all the years warnie won it for us, blind freddie could see that he would leave a big hole (along with mcgrath) when he left and yet a replacement wasn't being groomed to take over.

india's bowlers are getting the ball to move around and yet our guys can't seem to do it, reminiscient of the 05 ashes, and yet we now have cooley as our bowling coach.

without a doubt, india will be the next big thing if they learn to travel well or allow themselves time to get used to conditions. if they came out here earlier they would've beat us at home but by the time they got there eye in they were already 1 or 2 tests down.

5 down at stumps i'd say this one is beyond saving. pitches don't usually play that well on the 5th day in india.

When is the Australian Selectors going to wake up and start building a young fresh and fit team. As has been said already here, we deserve to get pumped.

I dont care how good they've been over the years, its time to go...Ponting & Hayden.

After all the controversy involving these teams including the slanging matches in this test, it's embarassing to be beaten. Some lessons learnt there i hope.

leaving roy home was a classic case of 'cutting their nose off despite their face' by the aussie selectors. they felt he needed to be diisciplined even though he is one of the best in the team.

ponting hasn't dominated the batting for quite some time. there was a period a few years back where every game he was a run machine but these days from the moment he hits the crease its painful to watch. sharma and harbi well and truly have the measure of ponting and haydos.

having said that, i don't believe our batting is the problem. any team coming out chasing 500 tend to have a little extra pressure on. we've seen it with the aussies for years, making big scores and then decimating the opposition. we need a better bowling attack. these days just sending them down at a fair clip is not enough. you need to be able to seam it, swing it, get it to lift off the deck etc etc.

outright pace is ok if its quick enough. now that tait has deemed himself ready to play he needs to be groomed to come back in the side. no one, not even himself, could predict where his next ball was going to go but he has serious pace.

Don't read too much into it, Australia had the talent but they just didn't fire, whereas India were in good form.

Hopefuly the third test will be as much fun to watch :P

Symmonds needs to be in the squad.
