I tried it years ago I picked up staugh (or however you spell it) after a knee reco - anyway two ops later (to clear out the infection) and antibiotics - I was happy to try what ever I could to prevent more ops and more cases of antibiotics - dont know whether it worked but I havent been back to hospital so I am all for it.

Yep, its an old remedy.
Works for Stomach ulcers too (which are usually caused by bacteria). |

It is good to see new treatments (or should that be old treatments) coming out for these problems. You do have to remember that there are limitations in the use of it though. Yes it is goood against staph, VRE and MRSA etc, but these are skin and wound infections where a topical treatment will work. They are unlikely to work on a systemic infection where they do not come in contact with the bug. No they will not work in bacterial meningitis, encephalitis or menigococcal septicaemia for example.
