just wondering what the fuel economy of everyone elses LS/LT focus is? when i drive the 4 hours home from uni i get consistantly 6.6L/100km. and overall average is roughly 7.0L/100km because i don't drive around town too much

My petrol LS. gets 11.4/100km from box hill to doncaster east (about 15-20mins)everyday but then i've got a lead foot and am running it on v-power.
In my car I have only seen it as low as about 7 once when i took a trip to Ballarat.

I've been consistently getting 7.8-7.9L/100KM...I guess you could call that a combined cycle as I live in Perth.
I have 26000Km's on the clock.

Our auto petrol LS has no trouble running in the 8s and 9s on a good city cycle drive. Country drive will see 7s or less. The short, sitting in traffic school run kills it, it gets into the 11s then.

I get 13.5l/100km on mine, it sounds ridiculous I know. I mostly do short trips from home to the train station and back, about 4km each way. My car spends more time stopped at lights than moving.
Im still not sure if my bad economy is normal for that type of driving. The cars nearly 7 months old and Ive only just clicked on 3000km. |

Mine is averaging 6.7 at the moment with an average speed of 41KM/H
Usually it’s around 7.2 with more city driving, worst I have seen is 7.7 when it was new. We drove down to Pinjarra a few weeks ago and it averaged 5.4 2006 LS with 21000km on it running BP Ultimate. |

Mine averages around 11.5L/100km. Usually just drive it to work which is about a 20 minute trip but stop at heaps of traffic lights.

the best highway economy i got was 5.5L/100km, but that was bloody hard to do! didn't need to overtake anything. but living off your savings (as a uni student) i find my focus is great on fuel

I had my parents' '06 for a month... average with mostly city driving was 7.2L/100k - pretty impressive really. It's a base model 5spd manual with smooth pack iirc.
If I didn't get a good deal on an LPG falcon, I probably would be driving a focus now. |

I get 11.5/100Km, and until now I thought that it is very high! cause the user guide mentions 8/100km for Automatic Focus.
I'm in brisbane and mostly have city driving, more behind red light instead of moving!(-: |

First test on computer gave 5.8 for 6.1 indicated yesterday gave 5.77 for 5.8 indicated, both over 4-500 kms. We have just covered 4000 kms total.
Ave 5.5l/100 Adelaide to Murray Bridge, 6.1 for trip as far as Bordertown. All on cruise and at speed limit(mainly 110). I have not trialed it properly yet but it seems to drop .4 - .5 dropping cruise back to 100kmh. |

Bloody hell, makes my LR focus and its 40,000km average of 10.58L/100km seem seriously bad.....! 99% city driving, and sit on the gateway carpark everyday....
The LS's seem to do ok.... |

I noticed that when I use cruise control, fuel consumption dramatically decrease! Couldn't find out what is wrong with my driving, yet!

I want to see someone crack 1000kms to a tank on a petrol LS = <5.5l/100kms
A lot of 85km/h driving and lots of downhill coasting.

I'm averaging 7l/100 in my LT Zetec. Been quite consistent since new, a whole 1,000 kms ago. : That's with mostly driving the motorway (Gateway), with a bit of driving on city roads. I have no problems with the Gateway, but then again I'm usually on my way to work when normal people are in bed, and not during peak hour.

Depends on how I drive really. You can drive around Canberra pretty quickly since the roads here are layed out quite well, but my job entails going to schools, so I'm usually zipping through the suburbs.
I kept it at 7.6 driving sensibly, but normally I get about 8.7 or 8.9. When I drove to Sydney and back, I ended up just shy of 700kms in a tank. Just for kicks I reset it just after filling up, then I floored it to see how high I could get the consumption. I can't remember for sure, but I know I got it to at least 27lt/100kms...sad thing is, my mate has a brand new XR8, and that about what his general consumption is! :P Didn't make me feel so jelous after learning that. |

I averaged 5.5l/100km over the roughly 100km trip from Toowoomba to Ipswich on Sunday with the cruise set to just over 100km/h. The first 10kms are downhill though and it was averaging 4.6l/100km til Gatton!

Recent trip from Hunter Valley to Grafton got 4.3l/100 km on the trip, that was sitting on the ever changing speedlimit,(4 adults, luggage and 48 bottles of wine on board) the rest of the tank was around town driving with two more short 90km highway trips. Didn't manage to reach the 1000 km but went bloody close @980km(couldn't bring myself to drive any further below empty maybee next trip.
