Over a few drinks me and a few mates decided we want to go to Bathurst this year. Unfortunately we have no idea how to implement this decision.
I'm guessing I just can't rock up the day and set up a tent next to the racetrack. Does anybody who has been before know the process. I'm planning on driving down with a few mates and a boot load of grog and camping. How do I go about going to Bathurst? Thanks! |

The cricket oval just off the main road is a good place for free camping. Everybody seems to do it. Its about 2kms from the track, and u can go to the squash courts on the next corner for a shower every night. Easy walk into the main street of town at night. We have dont it the last 6 or 7 years.

You wont get near the place with a bootload of grog. Didn't you see what they did last year?
1 carton pre person per day or somthing like that, it kicked up a huge stink from a lot of the regulars who go.

Well if you wanted a camping spot, you should book NOW! Lots of spots have been gone since November last year!

I dont know if it helps, or if theres better arrangements to be made but I found this... http://v8supercar.bigpond.com/conten...g/camping_faq/ Seems campsites dont go on sale until May 10th. Based on what Ive seen, the cricket ground mentioned above doesnt sound like a bad choice, and free. |

Well I got my campsite form a few days ago. They are already sending forms out to book campsites. But I agree with Phil the cricket oval is a great place to camp

the only way you can book a camp site early is if youve been before they give you first option to rebook your site before they open camp sites for everyone else but dont worry to much a lot of people i know are thinking about not going cos of how strict it was last year

Ok so I buy my tickets from Tickiteck.
Does that mean I can wander in and out over the weekend? Can I camp outside the venue and wander in whenever I want? Is there a curfew?? What does the ticket give you access to can I walk around and drink and look at stuf?? |
