Default Bracks to resign

Looks like your mexican prayers have finally been answered. Initial reports out that he is to resign.

http://www.theage.com.au/news/nation...339209648.html

Victorian Premier Steve Bracks is this morning set to announce his
resignation, reports suggest.

Mr Bracks is due to hold a press conference at Melbourne's Treasury Place at 10.30am, where he is expected to announce he will stand down.

Some reports suggest Mr Bracks may be stepping due to family reasons.

He is thought to have announced his decision to Cabinet this morning.

Water Minister John Thwaites is currently Victoria's deputy premier.

Just heard his announcement on the radio. Anyone know why?

Wonder if it could mark the end of 'The police state'? Doubt it though.

Holy Moly.

Maybe I should put my hand up for to be Premier. Seems no one else wants to do it.

I've already picked out a few roads that could see Unrestricted speed limits Well at certain times anyway...

Steve Bracks to go? If thats the case I will have to set up an inquiry and look into it (and waste taxpayers money doing so).

Thank goodness that blokes gone. Cant think of much or if so very little good that he did in all those years. Much, if not all of the promises he made last election go down the toilet because he had little hope of delivering them so I am not suprised hes walking. I wonder if he still intends on fighting the PM over the Murray Darling proposal.

Oh and this is strong evidence why his 4 year mandotory terms are crap and takes more say away from the voter. Now Victoria are stuck with a premier the didnt elect, (and infact elected against if it ends up being Brumby), for a whole 3 years.

He certainly will, quid pro quo will see to that, look at Bob Carr and Nick Greiner as an example from NSW.

Wouldnt be holding my breath that there'll be any changes in the way things happen, the machine just rolls on...

I didnt realise that Bracksie worked for the AFL, maybe him and Sheedy could swap jobs. Although Bracksie would probably give the job to Bomber Thompson at the moment. If Thwaites goes too then Sheedy n Thompson could do the job together.

Thwaites as well?........nahhhhh

I too won't be sad to see the Bracks go....in effective and did backflips on the 'no tolls' promise on the mitcham tollway.

What will he be remembered for?....ummmmm nothing good?

Getting drunk at the golf and then on the podium instoducing Ernie Elshhhhh
Speed camera debarcle.
Increasing state taxes and charges
The look on his face face at the Comm Games when John So got a huge cheer after he had been boooed - priceless.

Got to be careful about getting political on this thread....it is against FF policy isn't it?

Yes, please undo everything that man did. Car Park Levy's, Speed Cameras, Land Tax, higher registration fees, Eastlink Tolls, 3km/h tolerance, 50 zones, 40 zone. If they can't undo it by tomorrow, at least "examine it further"
