went to Drouin speedway about 6 weeks ago to watch a mate in his EA6 powered Corty on debut. Blew a radiator hose in the 2nd heat and in the final (37* day), but was looking really strong up until than..... was outpowering the commie V8's with ease! i've only been to amatuer speedway so far, good value though!!!

I usually go to almost every event at Baypark Speedway over here, but since I got my V8 I haven't gone at all - the XA sure keeps the wallet light!! $20 admission is a bit steep, in my opinion.

Went to the Speedway just outside Wagga (used to be called WIR, not sure what it is now) aaaaaaaaaages ago and it was great. Havent been since though and i know they're finding it difficult to get decent crowds out there.

I go sometimes here in Alice (Arunga park speedway). I like seeing the street stocks 'cause there is an AU XR6 which is run by a team called Fentech and it's a great car - always beats everything else with considerable ease. The car is done up real nice (not all beaten up like lots of the older ones lol) and seems to fly so smoothly and effortlessly around the track compared to other cars. I guess I'm biassed 'cause I have an AU but great to see anyway

I used to go to Fraser Ppark in Hume,Canberra, it was awesome!
The rumble, the smell, the fresh doughnuts. Pity it closed though... Then the drag strip came along, now that's gone too. I won't even bother to mention v8 supercars....

IM not going to start a list of the speedways i go to, its too long. I am 26 and have been going since i was a few weeks old. Have only been once this year, and that was to Avalon. but every other year i go at least 10-15 times as i am pit crew for my dad. He has been racing since 1960 and still going. Hes ready to restore his original car and is in the middle if building another one. Oh he races Hot Rods, which arent seen around much to day. www.sdavhotrods.com
So i guess i am a real speedway chick. its completely in the blood and of cause my dad races a FORD and always has |

I go to the speedway heaps..My dad races a EF Street Stock. We normally go to Alexandra, Avalon or Ballarat. We went to Mildura for the Aust. title and Horsham for the Vic title this year and next year we might be going to Alice Springs (Arunga Park) for the Aust.

I used to travel from Emerald, to Rockhampton Speedway, before they rebuilt the walls etc.
Always used to be a top night out. Even around Emerald when I was growing up, there was Springsure Speedway, and Capella Speedway. They ended up shutting down... :( Cheers

I used to go years ago, but the Newcastle speedway closed and don't go to it anymore.
The last speedway meeting I went to, was to see the Speedway bike GP (I don't know the exact name) at Telstra Stadium, in 2002. |

I try and get up to Wangaratta speedway as much as I can for the Compact Speedcars... No downforce & 1000cc superbike engines.... quicker than the 700hp V8 sprintcars :P

I've been to Rosedale speedway a number of times, but I haven't been in years. It isn't as big as other speedway events but it's still entertaining

I used to go to the Western Speedway in Laverton, Melb years and years ago, so long ago it been gone for 20+ yrs now. Was always a good day and/or night out.
Family friend who I used to watch race at the Western Speedway now has 2 kids racing in Jnrs. Poor bugger has to cart two cars to meets and does it with fervour, every spare minute keeping them going, welding this beating that. My nephew also races an ED. Its a great family thing speedway, good people, good atmosphere. |
