Default australian uniform for the beijing opening ceremony

was it me or did australia look like absolute bums.. i mean... parachute material? Surely we could have done something better than that.

They looked like they had jumped in a pool of blue dye, chest deep - then caught public transport to the Birds Nest.

The Americans' retro outfits looked great as did the Greeks' Mafia-styled white suits.

.............. Classic

What none of us realise, is that it is a secret SMOG resistant material........!!!!!!!!!

All the other nations have suffered XTREME amounts of SMOG inhalation at the opening ceremony...........our athletes were resistant and thus will have an advantage on the 1st day of events..........

Agree, it looked crap and their behavior around the track was no better either. They looked like a bunch of drongos wandering about. Couldn't they have least stayed in the marked out area while walking instead of straying all over the place and acting like fools in front of every camera they could find.

I should have gone to bed instead of waiting for that crap display.

At least the Chinese team coming in behind them got a good response and knew how to behave.

I prefer the green and gold. Its our sporting colours. But I agree they should have gone with something with a little more class. Suit and tie would have been ideal or a drizabone.

More class, MORE CLASS. What could be classier that an Olympic uniform that can also be used as a perfectly good bin liner? :hihi: At least that way the athletes wont have to worry about packing them for the return trip.

Imo regardless of the uniforms, it seems Australia had absolutely no respect for this ceremony at all !. Every other counrty made the effort to walk out uniformed in a kind of order/line. Australia come out all over the place looking like a pack of drunk yobbo's - that's Australia for you !. All in all though , what a great opening ceremony, China realy did a great job, I enjoyed it.

It's not like they're in the military is it. From what I saw they were out there having fun.

Love the blue outfits too!

It wasn’t that they were just having fun. What they were doing was disrespectful to the event and the hosts. Would you carry on like a drunken yobbo in front of 21 world leaders?

I'm not sure what channel you were watching champ, but the team of Aussies I saw walking out gave me a huge feeling of national pride.
I didn't see anything untoward in their conduct at all!

it's about respecting your country and those that have gone before you . some of us still have pride in who we are and where we came from . you probably think it's cool to act like a d!ck in public . i don't.
