Question steering wheel change!!

hey, anyone know how to change a steering wheel on a 1983 ford laser. ive bought a universal sports one and just wondered if its different to other cars or will it fit straight on?

if it's universal i don't see there being any problems - there will most likely be a nut/bolt behind the horn pad of the wheel, and possibly 1 or two on either side of the steering wheel (to the left and right of the horn area). It should be a simple process of removing the horn pad (if the horn is in the centre of the wheel) and unbolting the wheel, removing, then bolting the new wheel on. You'll have to re-align the horn switch too. That's some general advice, i don't know the specifics of Laser's in detail. I'm also guessing an 83 laser doesn't have airbags ;p

If you're unsure about the specifics, plenty of places will fit a wheel for you for $30 give or take a bit. Good luck with it.

Sports steering wheels require boss kits - You're after the one from 1981 Laser to 1989 Laser as they use the same fittings. Grab one from Repco/Sprints etc for about $30.
