I have the original head unit, which came with the EB fairmonts so i use a cassette player and i hook that up to my MP3. My problem that i have found with the mp3, is because it only runs on AAA bateries it doesnt have enough power for music to play out of all speakers in my car. When i do turn up the song im listening to it seems to only be strong from my right drivers speaker with the other speakers playiong the song but you can bearly hear it.
Now the speakers work fine when i use a discmen, which has 2 double A batteries. How can i fix this problem with my MP3? I want to get it playing at an equal level from all speakers. thanks |

Just buy a MP3 player CD Unit....they are cheap these days for a Clarion or Pioneer. It will save you buying a shiitload of batteries all the time. By the sounds of your problem your discman might have a stereo 3.5mm plug on it where your other player might only have a mono plug on it therefore you only hear it from one side.

Well, if you think it is the batteries you could get some high power output ones, like the Energiser 2500mAh ones (AA though, not seen AAA).
But it may be your palyers output, it may be inadequate. Edit: I have seen those tape thingies that plug into the fag lighter as well, possibly to amplify the sound? Maybe you want one of them! |

i can't believe you actually put up with the quality of a EB headunit running a tape to MP3 adaptor. Worst.Stereo.Ever. :P
For about $130-$160 bux you can get a MP3 CD player (some cheapy's even have a front USB port)...it won't be a brand name but it'll be 1000X better than what you've got now. |

lol im cheap, watever money i do make goes into the 250kw project im doing so a head new head unit will have to wait. I'l actually might try running the mp3 off the cig lighter that should do the trick. thanks for that
Theres nothing wrong with the original headunit, though the speakers are omg........Il get a cig adapter tommoro and ill tell you if it works or not. If not ill take it back, and with batteries i dont pay anything as they are rechargeable. |

Yeah, the one I saw (didn't see a price though) was made by Crest and I saw it in Bing Lee, so give that a shot!
