Hi There,
1st post, so... TX5 AT 2.2 '88 Auto I had the tranny replaced and since then sometimes I have to play with the auto-stick to start the car, eg: On-Start N, Start P, Start Off-On-Start (starts here). Something like that. Sometimes it's worse. Yesterday it completely refused to start. Battery's ok, lights on dash are okay. So I'm thinking, it's either: 1) Starter. 2) Tranny switch. I suspect it's more the tranny switch. If it is, can it be bypassed? Once a mechanic told me it's cheaper just to get another tranny from the wreckers than to work on the switch. To be honest the car in itself's not worth the time spend writing this post, but it was getting me from A to B and another car's a bit beyond the budget if this can be fixed. Thanks, shaakir Last edited by shaakir; 07-12-2009 at 02:18 AM. |

Also, I don't mind getting dirty with this car. Anyone know of good online resources like diagrams, etc.? I checked out the gallery but there not even a mention of this machine.

Called a mobile mechanic and it turned out to be the starter. They quoted too much to fix, so I invoked my RACV membership....
