As the title states, how many of you guys have XR5 Turbos? I know this forum is mostly Falcon centric, but I have read some older threads about XR5 Turbos before, and I'm wondering whether these cars are popular on this forum.

Came close to buying one (Brand New) on two separate occasions over the Years...even took a couple of Test Drives at the Dealers...but decided on something else on each occasion. Nice Cars.

Had one for about 11 years from new (LT in silver).
Loved that car, so much fun.

I had a Mondeo XR5 in 2008. Great touring car with the family onboard. Comfy, quick & well appointment for the time. Kept it for 8 years; still in my top 3.

I've had my LV for 2.5yrs and 4000kms EO stock as a rock other than short shift kit. The paint mesmerizes me but capturing on a phone cam isn't point and shoot. Watching the changing play of light in the original (unlike the 100 hail damaged EO cars repainted in Adelaide) tricoat would almost make you pull up a chair and a beer. But after a 8 year experiment in hatchbacks and the eventual epiphany that im a sedan guy she'll be hitting the market shortly. I'll miss her though. That Volvo engine has a feel of its own, easy clutch and a sweet shifting box. Course it's been three months i've been meaning to move her

I had it until it got to about 240k km. It had an issue with the head and we decided it was a good time to get a bigger car for the family so it left. I do miss driving it, i just don't miss the fuel and maintenance bills LoL

The first time was an XR6T...so the bigger Brother
The second time I ended up going with Renault Megane RS250.

Anyway i can't lie on this forum, i want, love and enjoy my cars but i have a long history of being unfaithful to them Theres a name for people like me but it's impolite and may be beeped by the forum Unusually i'm having a lot of hesitation bringing her to the point of putting it on the market, but well, not rich.

And i don't know anyone else who says they miss their car quite as much as you do that lovely XR5 I've had a XR6T too but the 5 has a character which not much matches.

One question, how much has the short shifter improved the feel of the gearbox, and is it easy to install? |
