Default Does 40 rwkws =2 seconds on 1/4 mile?

Hi all ..I have been dynoed at 140rwkws on average and have run a 15.1 .My six wagon is quoted as running 17 second 1/4 mile from factory. Is it fair to say that an increase of 20rwkws equates to 1 second quicker on the 1/4 mile?

only at very low power levels.

8000bhp topfueler runs 4.5sec will an 8030bhp fueler run 2.5sec??

On its own... no.
Combined with modified auto, chip for better low down power and a 3.7 diff... yes.
Theres a hell of a lot more to a fast 1/4 then outright power. Plenty of cars running lower power get a faster ET than similar cars with more power.

What he said.
A better way of looking at is by percentage.

40kw increase gives you approx 40% over your standard figure, which is a lot.

40kw increase on the above mentioned top fueler is less than 0.01%.

You also need to consider your shorter diff ratio, high stall converter, shift kit, and slicks.

Rick.

Another formula that always works for me is the weght one . This is that for every 100 pounds removed from a given vehicle that vehicle will run .10 of a second quicker over the 1/4 mile.....cheers jai.

I've said it once and i'll say it again, it's not JUST power, it's SETUP (suspension, tyres, weight). Are you chasing a time or power?

I do believe that once the setup is right that power and power curve are of extreme importance. If we dont have the power ,the car cant be carried across the line as quick.
