Default For Sale Forums.

Im curious as to how many of AFF's members have used the for sale forums, and to what level?

I myself have bought a car, sold one, and sold numerous items through the FS forums. Who's bought and sold what?

ive bought a car, sold some stuff.

just wondering, can we break it up more? i went looking today and look at all the E an A series stuff that turned up on the first page.

theres more on the second page.

im guessing not because it would take more work to keep it sorted.

but if we had BA/BF, E/AU, EA/EB/ED, XD/XE/XF, XA/XB/XC, XR/XT/XW/XY

that would be soooo much better.

yeah i use it all the time.

but so many things i search for are like 3 letters - eg. MSD and ****.

i figured it would be too much trouble, but still something that i thought needed some spotlight.

we'll have to get used to E series crap clogging up the for sale threads.

I agree it should be in X-Series, E-Series, AU-Series, BA-Series and Other.

It would be good, but the problem you would then have is moderation.

People are lazy and probably wouldnt bother putting it in the right section, OR you would need mods checking it every 5 minutes.

I dont think it will happen as its just too much work.

The problem with it is where do you draw the line, if you seperate it into parts for X,E,A and B, then do you seperate it again for state? What about parts that fit every model? Where do rims and tyres go? Etc etc.

Wont happen, I find search adequate enough.

I have bought a few things so far and thankfully all the transactions were easy. There were of course those few sellers that never bothered to admit that the thing they were advertising was actually not for sale after all until being reminded they said they would sell it to you at a certain price LOL.

I dont think we need to go crazy and go X series then into state, E and then state and so on.

Boostcruising has a seperate section for wheels and tyres. Even though i hate their site, the classifieds sections is well structured.

But as a deidcated ford site, it would be nice to have it broken up a little.

Its mandatory to have the state in the title anyway.

Yeah Ive had my ups and downs with it for sure, but overall it works well.

The only thing that bugs me is that some members obviously buy wrecks all the time, and thats fair enough, but dont make a thread for every single part. Not everyone does that though.

I think spliting it up into X, E, A, B Series is a good idea. You could even get away with putting A and B together as it wasn't a huge jump.

Gets a little tricky I guess with say a XH ute, its a X Series but has an E serie sengine, but stiff; into the X Series section it should go.

I dont agree with splitting it into states, thats a PIA and as said above you already have to state (hehe) where you are from anyway.

i think keeping the STATE in the [XXX] at the start of the title works well
and if placed into MODEL catagorys then im sure most people would like to know that parts are ANYWHERE in the country not just in their state

ie alot of members order from FTG etc.. and they are in VIC?
as postage really isnt that $$ in our country!! and time taken isnt bad either

so id say YES to the separation of BA AU E X series would be great!
but NO to separate states too.. othewise we have to trawl 7 different listings for parts of a car that everywhere got ..

It would be loonacy to break it down into model then state.

Its mandatory to put the state in the title so that would be fine.

i dont mean separate into models THEN States..

just models so you dont have to trawl thru all the X and E series stuff while lookin for AU stuff
and keep the states how they are at the start of each title like
"[QLD] cat back exhaust"

Have bought two sets of wheels, XR6's and a set of stockie 16's. Both transactions went through really well. Have also bought lots of stuf that wasnt advertised on the for sale section, but off people on the forum, using the forum as our communicating tool.

I believe it should be brokend down into Series just to make it easier... the wanted and cars for sale should stay as is. But yeah parts should be broken down into each series

I like the idea of the different sections. Maybe for the parts that are interchangable between different series, have a section for general car parts.
eg. You could have the sections:
X-series
E-series
AU-BFII
Other or assorted
