Default How people launch their autos

Since I'm most likely off to the drags again this week thought I''d see what others do to get their 4 spds off the line. Stall it up, just floor it etc.

I usually stall it up a little bit and then just let it go. Never wheels spins just goes.

Same, I found in the non VHT by just mashing it when the light went green it would wheel spin for a little bit, when I switched to the VHT lane though and stalled it up had no issues and a very swift launch, well, swift for a 6 banger anyway.Id be interested when people are shifting, think I bounced off the limiter once or twice in the heat of the moment.

My concern is the no wheelspin. Apparently there should be a tiny bit of spin from maximum acceleration.

60 footers are 2.3 -2.4

not always mate.. with good tyres and a tight lsd you should see a great launch without wheelspin...
these au's aren't that gutsy off the line when bog stock...

*edit*
just read your sig... you should be getting wheelspin, i would hope, with nearly 200rwkw

I generally launch with a whole heap of wheelspin..

In all seriousness, its hard to say, different setups respond differently, what works for me would be very different for you. Even with a stock stall I'd also think you'd get a bit of wheelspin, but once again different tracks in different conditions react differently!

In saying that I rev to about 2400rpm and slowly get into it, hitting WOT at about 35-40km/h, but my setup is a lot different to yours!

All trial and error IMO, just get out there and enjoy it i reakon

At the motorplex i don't think you will wheel spin with stock auto, eg; In my manual i always launch around 4500rpm and get of the clutch reasonably quick (but not too quick) to get a 13.6xx my sixty footers range between 2.067 to 2.145

Regards, Craig.

Stall to 2500 rpm as thats as high as my stallie goes for some gay reason, and let go, foot down straight away. I only have 154kw, and I get a crap load of wheelspin if I dont use slicks.

I stall it to 2,000 with my left foot on the very edge of the brake pedal. I then slip my left foot sideways off the brake (as opposed to lifting) so the brake gets off quickly. Then I mash the right foot to WOT in a quick but controlled movement to avoid it flashing up too high.

Dont stall it fully.Go to say 1900 rpm then when you see the lights mash the sucker...this will slingshot the car rather than kill the auto prelaunch...
