Default Android Auto

the newly aquired '14 Forrester needs an upgrade on the SD map reader card.
$350 odd from Subaru and thats 2018 they stopped upgrading.

option 1; use google maps yes except wife (whose car it is) does not have internet on her ph.
option 2; android auto, yes more expensive to buy and set up but everything is there and upgraded very easy.

We prefer to have a head unit that fits into dash (double din) so recommend a good brand etc please

Aerpro. Not cheap but you can fit the head unit of your choice into them.

We had The Dragon Lady's territory done and haven't looked back

GasoLane, what brand model head unit did you fit? and has it met your expectations?

As it was only her car I got an elcheapo unit and had them both fitted at an Car audio place...coz I knew that I'd stuff it up

Won't Android Auto also require the Internet access your Wife's phone doesn't have ?
