Default Who do you use for service?

Hey fellas, just wondering who people would recommend for a regular service. Last one was done at the local dealer but now ready for 50,000km service and wouldn't mind finding someone reputable to have a look at it.

I'm in Yarraville, missus is in Scoresby and work is in the city so somewhere near one of those areas would be good.

I'm going to be taking my car down to G&D performance in Dandy. I started taking it to Craig a few months before he closed and I don't think I'll find another like him.

Hopefully he opens something soon so we can all go rushing back.

Tristan - yeh I got no probs doing the basics myself (plugs, oil, filters etc) but it is nice to have it looked over in a bit more detail by someone who's got the right gear and so on.

Tony - not overly fussed about factory warranty at this stage of it's life anyhow although it might be wise to check and have any stuff sorted under warranty for the last crack I'll get at Ford warranty. Good call - if I've still got a month or so of warranty left I might take it to the dealer again.

I thought about G&D - not too far from the missus place I guess and I can leave it for a day or two and maybe borrow her car or grab a train to work.

Keep 'em comin if anyone's got any other bright ideas!

Try Binks ford in Footscray as one of our club members Jeramy works in the service department. There is other places who can do logbook services such as Ultra Tune Midas Mufflers places like that. Hope that helps. Tony

Ultratune in Southland has been servicing all my cars for the last 4-5 years. Excellent service and prices. Since I've joined the club, I went to Craig at ACE and had even better experience, but since he's closed, I went back to Ultratune. Just did a 160k service on monday.

Yes Craig will be missed, I am also looking for a new servicing workshop. I understand Herrods do logbook services..anyone had any good experiences there?

Jeremy may be ok, but who knows who will work on your car and my experience with ford dealers is a rush to get cars done, a couple of experienced mechanics and a heap of under paid, over worked, frustrated apprentices who forget to do things back up such as my piping for my turbo, spill oil all over the rocker cover etc etc!! I would find someone whose credibility is on the line with the work they do to your car, other words, they not only work on your car, but they own the business. They then have a much bigger interest in doing the right thing by you, where big companies and dealerships don't really give a damn.

Very true Jas, a few years back I took my EDXR6 to New Oak Ford Service Dep in Oakleigh for a service... Never again. They didn't bother checking anything, and apart from replacing oil and filter, they've kept the car for the whole day to make me think they were doing something. The car came out dirtier than it came in, oil fingerprints all over the quarters, pod filter untouched( I specifically told them to clean it) etc. Expensive as well.

On the other hand, I have a very good experience with Knox Ford afterhours service guys in Ferntree Gully.

The T was serviced at Dion's shop today, Dyno-Mite Performance. Highly recommended guys, good work thouroughly done. And service log stamping, so even if it's new, take it in. You won't be disappointed.

Kev, that is good news and great to hear you have found someone to look after your car. I think it can be quite hard to find someone who you can trust and will do a good job!
