wow, the CTP on that list for NSW is very expensive, I guess depends on insurer, driver, history, age etc.. not sure if location plays a part, but we pay a total of about $360 with AAMI, was a bit less than $900 all up rego/ctp.

I'm in NSW and my Ranger didn't cost $1200 to register. It was a touch over $900 including rego and CTP. Still expensive though. CTP green slip was about $400.

Rego for a dual cab Ranger is about $525 per year + about $20 for plates at initial rego.Single cab is quite a bit cheaper because of only having 2-3 seats and being classed as a goods carrying vehicle.Pensioner rate for a single cab is just over $400.

Re NSW depends where you are I suspect.
Sydney, my 4x4 dual cab SR5 Hilux due for rego 10/17 paid below
CTP $678 good history, full points, mature age, good area parked.
Rego $751.
Then add Full Comprehensive Ins.
Yep, NSW drivers are getting ripped !

We got insurance renewals for 4 of our work vehicles a few months ago. All identical vehicles, as in they originally rolled off the production line together. There was a difference of almost $4000 between them. Despite being the same weight, seating capacity, engine, gearbox, registered address and usage.
When the boss rang up to ask how that was possible, he was told that if he didn't like it he could go elsewhere, but that each one was correct, and they didn't have to explain why.
He chased it all the way to the ombudsman, and still never got a satisfactory response.
Someone said it depends on the broker used, as they all get different deals. Or perhaps one was discounted because it was grouped in with a bunch of other vehicles as well.
But we bought them from a company that has their entire fleet (700 or so vehicles) on common registration expiry, the broker negotiates for the entire fleet at the same time.
It doesn't make sense.
