Default 2017 Porsche Panamera

Look to be leaked photos

I am a fan of the current one and I am a fan of this one. Would go nicely sitting next to the GT3 RS :P

Sitting in the back looks like almost as much fun as sitting in the front.

Much better shape than the current generation! Looks like a bigger 911... which is a good thing!

No reflection on the car, but what I don't get is why Porsche have spent like 80 years trying to perfect the fundamentally stupid idea of putting the engine behind the rear wheels, having along the way abandoned more normal cars. (Can you imagine how good the 928 would be if they'd kept making it) And now having finally produced a 911 that doesn't try to kill its drivers, they have reverted to a conventional layout?

Panamera != 911.

The Panamera is Porsche's sedan, a conventional boot, seats 4 in comfort and performance to boot. Engine in front allows the ability to seat these people and have a big boot.

The 911 is a pure sports car, nothing else. Porsche have evolved the 911 to the current model just like any other car maker has with their models, over time through the use of advanced technology.
It may be unconventional to have the engine in the boot (as does having the engine over the front axle, actually anything but mid engine is compromised for performance) but it works.

No-one wanted a 928 so they killed it.

From a pure sports car point of view unless it is mid-engine it's compromised.

I don't get it, why bother with a 4 door 911? If you want the flexibility of 4 doors with a Porsche name then Porsche has the Cayenne and Macan, both of which they are selling bucket loads of.

Are you serious? That's like saying why does Tata bother with Jaguar when they've got Land Rover

It's not a 4 door 911 though. It's a completely different platform and they don't share any engines.

Oh I see, Porsche went out of their way to make it look like a 4 door 911, but it isn't a 4 door 911.

http://www.wheelsmag.com.au/news/160...four-door-911/

So it's a faux 4 door 911, here is a more authentic 4 door 911
